  3. Made my way up north for a business meeting and to chase some pan fish. Very cold morning with wind chill values of 10 below. Several bodies of water with 3-4" of ice in places.....Hyde lake and black lake had anglers on the ice. Had decent luck with the blue gills and sunnies today. 2/3 of pail. Few perch Caught and 12-15 crappies all short, unfortunately...... Spikes with small jigs took most fish today... Fun day. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Heading up north tomorrow to drill first holes of the season and chase some crappies. Will post update on conditions and results tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. I just picked up horneday 250 gr sst sabots as a result of reading this thread. Hope this is a decent sabot and an improvement over the powerbelts i was using. Look forward to the results!! Thanks for the great info guys! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. I had thought i read that in the past but was never 100% positive..... Good to know in the future. Though i hope that tag is punched most seasons[emoji51]Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  8. Thanks sk8man. Duly noted. A couple years ago the ice was 25" on the SLR and 30" + on chaumont bay. That was quite a year! Lot of work drilling even with a power auger. Definitely going to keep the jiffy for the thick ice. Looking forward to the weight reduction when ice conditions permit the use of the drill however! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  11. Fixed my issue by upgrading to 18v hammer cordless drill and hand drill conversion, lol. Only using the heavy jiffy for thick ice now. Psyched! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  15. Congrats!! Look forward to pics in the coming hours. The whitetails will to survive always surprises and amazes me. I guess thats what 3.5 million years of evolution will do to a species of herbivores....Make them survivors. That said, Even the toughest critter cant overcome .50 cal at 55 yards for long. Good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  17. That is awesome!! Figured they would have other things on Their minds by now.... like feeding. Wonder if its more of a social thing as they reintegrate themselves back into their communities? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. Pap, The seasons: Bow, early muzzle (where applicable), regular season, late season muzzle/bow, run back-to-back in NY for whitetail. With the exception of some bow only hunting in very specific areas of long island which takes place in jan i believe. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
