  5. Beech trees are very cool. On our property in the tug hill it's one of the few mast producing trees that seem to grow well in the swampy hardpan soil the plateau is well known for. We have a sizable stand of beech that some of the trees must be well over 50-60 years old.... They are beautiful, particularly against a snowy backdrop. When those nuts drop seemingly every nearby animal pays a visit till they are gone. Deer certainly love beech nuts. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Thought i might wait till friday when temps drop a touch. Guess u cant shoot em if not in the woods but it sure felt balmy this afternoon. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  22. Gator, great point. I had some unexpected events cause me to scramble and find property to hunt mid-season this year. Fortunately I found a small parcel to hunt in 7R. When I was walking the boundaries for the first time i got a little (like100feet ) over on the neighbors land. He happend to be hunting close by and came over to give me the what for.... I apologized, introduced myself, explained that i was walking the boundaries so that i would not encroach on future hunts. Long story short, i made a new friend. It always pays to upfront and respectful. Now i have a great neighbor. We all make mistakes. The only guy who was perfect they crucified, lol. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
