  2. Is your sonar on Demo mode??!! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. That Crappie was unreal, krux. Some hogs come out of lake O, also. Awesome release... Most anglers view crappie as table fare so its great to see a breeder like that get released. The smaller fish taste better anyway. Well done, sir! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. On the topic of lakers.... I caught this guy in Chaumont while walleye fishing.... They are great fighters through the ice.... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Fleet, I spend most of my time on chaumont as well dredging up eyes and perch. Its a great fishery. When the ice cooperates I enjoy fishing different areas on the SLR,as well, but u cant beat Chaumont. Maybe see u out there this winter. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Revised long range forecast looks promising. La Nina winter. Above average cold. Here is hoping!!
  7. I also have a 10" dexter.... Great knife!! Sharp and flexible. Japanese steel!! Really holds an edge. I sharpen each time I use..... It is SHARP. would recommend to anyone and cant beat the price. IMO, the best value electric fillet knife Is the American Angler..... Gears, transmission, and driveline are all metal so it is built to last. Also, blades are made by Ginsu. A couple models come with 3-5 blades to choose from depending on the size of your catch. Its a very sturdy and effective knife. Much, Much better than the 2 twisters and hamilton beach I have burned out.
  8. Pursuit makes a sweet boat in that size with cabin.
  9. Wonder if its more productive ice fishing for them? So u dont have to deal with all of the vegetation..... One would have to believe some forage to support lmb and tiger.
  10. What r u looking to upgrade to??
  11. Welcome to LOU!
  12. Thanks for the words of wisdom guys!! Always great to get insights on what is working well in different programs. Yellowpike- The showdown is really nice... I have looked at them.... They use the showdown on most of the in fisherman shows about ice fishing. I like its size too.
  13. Bring ur surf boards!![emoji305][emoji305][emoji475]
  14. 60 dead fish at the bass masters tourney on the SLR in Clayton in July..... That doesnt include those that swam off and went belly up due to stress. It's Sickening!! Tourneys like that should be eliminated or at least weigh- ins Re thought with sustainability in mind.
  15. With any luck..... Someone has a unit they would like to sell!! Low miles, only fished after church on Sundays, lol.
  16. Yes, i know some are brand loyal, but for a first unit I figured they all really mark fish.......Hoping to just kinda figure out the whole flasher screen thing this year. Its still a bit of a mystery to me. I guess it will just take a bit of practice to get the hang of it.
  17. Was looking at the long range forecast for this winter.... It looks better than last but not a real ice box like 13 and 14. Of course, weather predictions cant get it right 5 days out let alone 5 months out, lol!
  18. Thanks! I bought the vexilar Tpod last year.... Its a sweet little unit that uses ur smart phone as a screen. Now Im hooked!! Need something with more than 4 hrs battery life. Total game changer. Cant wait to use a big boy flasher this season!!
  19. If anyone is interested in selling their old or secondary Vexilar, Marcum, Hummingbird, etc., I am interested in purchasing it. Looking to upgrade to a flasher for ice fishing this season. Thanks in advance!! Anthony.

Nice catch of eaters there! Way to go.
  21. Used to own this same trailer. Great set up. No rust and super light. Make someone a sweet rig.
  22. That picture is worth a thousand words!! Well done![emoji1303][emoji1303]
  23. Nice fish Kevin.... They r getting chunky. Caught one on fiday night about 2" smaller and could not believe the tussle it put up. Love those head shakes. Even with an 8oz weight on the line[emoji3]. She went back too.
  24. Its encouraging to hear the muskie activity and encounters. I know of bass fishermen hooking up and other anglers encountering some follows as they fight their fish on the SLR. Despite the seemingly higher than usual number of floaters seen this year, perhaps the fishery is not losing ground? Lets hope the above activity is a positive indicator of things to come.
  25. Caught limit on saturday in 20 minutes. My buddy caught 12. Crabs in 20fow. Between clayton and cape vincent. But Yes..... To your points, Bass fishing is not what it once was. I know many guys are experiencing better results on the canadian side of the river.
