  1. There are walleye all over if you plan to drive and dunk.... Grab a lake contours map book at gander and it provides species data for each lake in the region. I have one for the 3 counties I fish.... Very useful information. There are numerous ways to fish walleye and some methods work better than others on a particular body of water. Trolling stick baits from a planer board is effective in some areas while jigging is more effective elsewhere and dont forget the mighty worm harness. Really have to spend some time and see what works best. Oneida Lake is a well known walleye fishery and not too far from Rochester. I have not personally fished it yet but plan on doing so this ice fishing season!! Hear good things about the walleye and perch. Good luck.
  2. Where do u intend to fish?
  3. Yes.... That is known as the Faraday cage effect..... The bimini in that case would be most effective in an aluminum or metal boat..... Dissipating the single bolt of electric charge and redirecting the lightning and then helping it find ground- from the stainless bimini supports thru the hull to the water. In theory it should work. The heat produced may still harm you though even if it worked as it was supposed to.
  4. Thats a beauty!!
  5. What is your burn rate at 3400rpm (reference 1st picture) ?
  6. Beautiful boat!!! This is the year of the Tiara on LOU! Wish it was my year, lol.
  7. Kevin, Steve is a great guy. Did he provide Any indication as to why the other species of fish were experiencing relatively low population densities?
  8. Miami beach and Fire Island off the top of my head. Its quite a migration from the SLR.
  9. [emoji23][emoji23]. I hear you prof T.... Muskies are tagged by select anglers. Perhaps the biologists can tag a large enough sample of eyes they don't need the assistance of anglers? Still it would be fun to assist in their efforts. Its also nice to know that there is data being collected.
  10. Levels on SLR are low as well..... Shudder to think what its going to look like during muskie season!
  11. As I understand it, it does not matter if your vessel is wood, aluminum, fiberglass, steel, or plastic.... The danger of lightning on the water is meaningful. Lightning does not discriminate when it comes to boat makes and types. The only fool proof way to mitigate the risk of a strike is by getting to port and off your boat as soon as possible. Here is some info I found on google. http://boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/lightning.htm

  17. 434 walleye!!! [emoji15][emoji43][emoji1303]......wow. And a 40" northern is pretty sweet. Congrats on beating the elements and catching some fish. Well done.
  18. Looks like a boat that can catch some fish.....
  19. Lund's are beautiful boats..... If you have questions, especially as a new boat owner, a survey is always money well spent. Or you might be able to take the boat to a marina and have it looked over by a mechanic for a price. Good luck to u!!

  21. RR are a good bait. I love the 900s. Caught some big fish on them.
  22. Nice!!! Thank you for sharing. Tight lines.
  23. I have caught quite a few fish on RR but they can be a real PITA at times with tuning issues. Never had a bomber not run true out of the box..... Had more than one RR that was un fishable out of the box[emoji35]
  24. Trolled a bomber tonight on the SLR and caught an eye on first pass...... RR was on opposite rigger and it popped almost same time..... I love bombers. They catch fish trolling. IMO
  25. Those are 2 nice eaters there!! Fatty on the bottom.
