  1. Very nice[emoji1303][emoji1303]. SD just made my bucket list[emoji6]
  2. WOW!! I am typing in a puddle of drool...... Great ideas..... Going to try them all, I think. Love the bacon wrapped walleye on grill as appetizer, Prof T!! The wood smoke sounds amazing too. Very tasty post.
  3. Any more photos??
  4. Where r these located??
  5. Wow... I just... Read your post in its entirety.... Guess big fish and big numbers!! Awesome!! Congrats.
  6. Is this near Devils Lake in SD? I saw it featured on Tom Gruenwald Outdoors...... Looks like SD has some incredible walleye fishing..... From what I recall, not huge fish but amazing numbers. Sounds like a blast!!! Good stuff and Thanks for sharing.
  7. Hit Chaumont bay from 10pm to about 12:45am this evening. Got blown off the bay unfortunately. Wind really picked up in a hurry out of the Nnw and whipped up some 2 - 3 ft chop...... We were not prepared for the rocking and rolling and called it an early evening.....Prior to the weather taking a nasty turn, we marked some nice bait on herrick shoal and some promising predator activity on the sonar..... Perhaps our next trip will see better weather and better results.
  8. Great job...... Great post..... Confucius says, You must find active fish to catch fish!!! It is so easy to get committed to an unproductive spot...... And waste time wonder why they are not biting and thinking of all the reasons they should be biting based on info from electronics or past experience, etc.... When what you should be doing is checking out the next spot!!! Great practical example and success story. Thanks for sharing!!!!
  9. Get em Mike!! Look forward to your reports..... Hope the wind cooperates for you

I sure can relate to the long learning curve.... Lol. When I started targeting walleye thought I'd never boat one intentionally. Like you said, practice ( and a fair amount of patience) eventually pays off. I still have much to learn but I think thats what makes this sport so darn addicting. Lots of great advice from LOU has helped a lot too.

Nice work kevin!! Giving away all your secrets in the photo[emoji2]. Lol. Good looking limit there.
  13. Never caught one.... Heard they fight like hell and are delicious.
  14. Splake... Cool!!
  15. Almost all larger fish in the food chain
  16. As for the round gobie.....they sure are making for some trophy sized fish on the SLR and Lake O.... 5-6lb smallies and 9-10lb walleye are the result of ample forage base. The ecosystem is surprisingly resilient and dynamic!
  17. The ballast water regulations act was enacted several years ago.... 2012 I believe....and is enforced by the USCG. The law requires ships to maintain onboard equipment that filters ballast water to a specific purity. Save the River was a major supporter and lobbyist on behalf of this important piece of legislation protecting our natural resources.

  20. Congratulations!!! I hope you enjoy 50 years of retirement[emoji3]
  21. Steve LaPan is a great guy.... And a very bright biologist and avid angler. He has spent a career protecting the game fish and waters of Lake O and the St Lawrence River. The findings in this report are steeped in data meant to benefit the health of our game fish and their food supply. My thought is.... How can we help??
