The leaves are showing sign of the impending change of season. The morning and evening air is a little more brisk. I wake to the sound of flying geese. It all adds up to one thing...... Time to start hunting for muskie! Love this time of year!!! Went for a quick 3hr troll Sunday evening with my cousin, uncle, and buddy. Set up was great above and below the water. Diving birds, bait fish, bass, walleye, and then some monster hooks as sunset approached. No muskie this trip but will be going back to fish this evening. Caught and released a nice northern. Some very good points here. I have had great success and improved productivity leveraging solar lunar data when hunting and fishing. I almost never go out without glancing at the data. Animal response to celestial events is a remarkable and in my experience ( I believe many others too) predictable phenomenon. I could go on and on about this topic but I am not an expert so I will wrap it up. One point that I would submit for consideration is that lunar events represent only half of the "feeding windows". Solar events also effect feeding habits and should not be overlooked. There is some very good info at primetimes2.com. Good Luck and Tight lines! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Blue Eye, What a Hog!! That is just a beautiful muskie. Sounds like the perfect end to a wonderful day. I live in Clayton and know the muskie museum well. It is a great steward of thousand islands history and culture. I believe it is the TI museum that facilitates the catch and release print program. If you provide pic, measurements, and witness you will earn a very nice muskie release print by Michael Ringer. Very cool initiative to promote the continued viability of our beloved muskie fishery. May I ask roughly where you hooked up? Great pics! Thank you for sharing. Tight lines:) Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -

Panfisher, I tried sheepshead for the first time 2 years ago. I had read up on them and to your earlier point are closely related to fish that make excellent table fare.... Long story short, the meat is delicious. I have fried with egg wash and dipped in italian bread crumbs and parmesan cheese - very good. Also, cooked on grill in aluminum foil with butter, salt, pepper, capers, dill, and dry white wine- excellent. Highly recommend this overlooked fish for both fight and table fare. Attached is a pic of a 16# sheepshead I brought in on my perch rod. What a fight! Good luck. Tight lines. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Glad to hear you walked away from collision in good health. I am an import guy. A used nissan pathfinder has lots of towing capacity for its class, like 6800lbs if memory serves. Engines and drive train are well engineered and will far outlast the sheet metal. Not uncommon to see a pathfinder with 250-300k. Good rigs. Good value. Imo. Good luck with ur search. I would also add that the lake trout was released safely as you cannot target them at millsite during the winter. It is fun to hook up though:) I understand six berry and lake of the woods have LL and lakers. I have never fished them personally but hear LOW can be productive. Good luck. Millsite is an excellent fishery. I have had the best luck with lakers ice fishing for northerns. I have caught an 11 lb lake trout on a tip up at millsite and WOW was that fun! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

That is a legit HOG! Fish of a lifetime. Not sure about a record though. A 60.5" fish was safely released on the St.Lawrence 3 years ago. Over 50" makes me smile every time! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
