I know ski heads can be tight lipped about the what, where, and when.... Particularly on the river. However, there must be some summer success stories out there or some inadvertent hook ups. Love to hear the good, bad, and ugly. Whats your take on how these fish relate to structure in the summer v fall? All good stuff. Thanks again, and tight lines!!

I have heard that the smallie fishing, this year in particular, has been very spotty all over. I too am waiting for the late season bite that is soooo awesome! Cant wait!! As an aside, sheeps head are pretty good eating and a blast to catch on med/light tackle:). Good luck and tight lines.

Thanks for the info. I have never fished near the Burg but have heard of some nice fish being taken in that part of the river.

Perch were a bit illusive. Found some gills in french bay. On weed beds suspended in about 8fow. Caught enough for dinner and had a blast with my boy!

Thanks again for the words of wisdom Kevin and Trapper. Trolled for 3.5 hrs yesterday evening with my uncle, cousin, and a family friend. Boated a nice 7lb eye and a 33" northern. Caught the eye on a planer board with a 7" bronze colored reef runner in about 35fow. A lot of fun!

Ivan is right on the money. As the summer progresses Large northerns move deeper. 25-50 depending on water temp. Typical predator structure with access to deep water is usually a good bet. Fish the deep water ledge. Good luck.

Those are some HOG eyes!! Any size to the Muskie? What kind of water? Really impressive catch of eyes. All considered trophy class. Great work.
