  1. Well well well someone has to be looking for a nice setup
  2. If these are still available I will definitely take them
  3. We will be there this year as well. Fish Stix will be making the run from Bald Eagle to fish with a team from last year. Looking forward to putting in for a great cause. Especially when cancer hits at home like it did for myself.
  4. I found another tip that’s useful as well, not to trash a spot by having numerous people come help try finding blood and trashing an area by walking all over cause they can step on the smallest of blood or scent, if you lose the blood trail mark it and back out then make the call to deer search.
  5. Had a Trophy 2502 for a couple years and if I could get it back I would. Love the design, love the way it handles rough seas and it fished like a dream. I could load it and tow anywhere, made quite a few trips to Erie and then from the west end Wilson all the way to Oswego. Then with those Etecs on it it’s sipped fuel and then when you wanted to be someplace it would get you there in a hurry
  6. Do yourself the proper justice and call the number for warranty issues. I had a leftover 2015 Starweld 20Pro and had an issue that when on plane the boat would list over due to prop torque and the dealer never heard of such issue so online here I went and found out that others were having same issue. Well the dealer was great even though they couldn’t fix it as warranty without putting trim tabs on it. They tried there damdist to help me but ended up giving me the number and made a call. Low and behold Starcraft was aware of the issue and sent me what they called a fix, 2-4” long pieces of 1” angle iron for me to mount myself. Needless to say I bought actual trim tabs and installed those instead. They mass produce these boats fast cause demand is high and I bet they missed something. Keep good with dealer and see if they can get you a number, I think you would get much further than an email. Good Luck
  7. Those are the Traxtech tracks and we bolted them down only because I did get the Versatrack brackets and everything was bouncing around which made me very nervous. It required some work taking the side panels off but I used short sections cause of the rod lockers. Maybe by now they have come up with a more beefy bracket to mount the track to
  8. Like I said this was info passed along from a conversation we were having at the dock. It raised my concern and has stuck in my head, there wer efood changes made this year with all the pens along south shore to provide a bigger fingerling when released and the weight average did go up using that said food. Hopefully it works and provides healthier salmon. I am aware of the age classes that run and don’t. We were offshore this past weekend catching 3 year olds that probably won’t run and caught a bunch of 1-2 year old fish as well. As for the bait situation well with the trawls done early and late we shouldn’t have to worry any with all year classes being caught in healthy numbers. I will mention another concern brought up by anothe rcaotain was why would a mature 3 year old salmon be stuffed full of this years hatch of alewives no bigger than 1.5” and not have any other age class in its belly. Possible that that was the only bait available at that feeding time, I don’t know. For me learning the biology of the lake comes thru ambassadors of the lake. I surely do t want to see the mighty King dissolve from the lake. I have fished it from the late 80’s to present and plan on fishing for many many years. If I have nothing to be concerned then so be it.
  9. I had a Targa 18 and then moved up to a Starweld 20 but it’s the same setup. Hope this helps
  10. I can’t provide any documentation as it was a general conversation between a fellow advocate for Lake Ontario who had discussions with biologists from both sides of the lake just a week ago and when I brought to his attention about the 2 year old salmon having mature eggs and not being mature enough to spawn, he mentioned that this was the topic of there conversation. Yesterday we had a male that had no sperm in it what so ever, so yes there is an issue and Jerry Felluca can add to this conversation if he so chooses. As for the Genesee river it used to be a major source of reproduction for salmon and that was a fact. As for interbreeding yes you can say that even in nature it’s so but when your pulling eggs and sperm from the same class of fish year after year the genetics are gonna get screwed up. Why not Ship eggs from West coast Chinooks overnite and hatch those fish for pens. I am no expert by any means and base what I say as to what was told first hand from people involved in the system when concerns were raised by myself and other Captains. Do we not have a reason to not worry with certain facts at hand?
  11. Tom I agree on how good the fishery is but do you realize that I’m just a few years we could be in some real trouble. I Charter out of Bald Eagle by Oak and a lot of us have noticed how the 2 year old class of fish have had mature egos in them but are not sexually mature enough to spawn when some of the 3-4 year class have had none to very small immature eggs. This is all in part of the interbreeding of Salmon we have had for decades. If the DEC and Biologists don’t come up with a plan soon we could be in trouble down the road. If it wasn’t also for the Pen tearing projects I think we would be in a slump cause the natural reproduction of salmon is almost non existent from the Genesee to the west compared to 20 plus years ago. Don’t get me wrong the fishing has been phenomenal the past few seasons but it comes at a cost when we are now catching more 1-2 year old fish than 3-4 year olds. Who would think in this fishery that a 27# Salmon would be the talk of the marinas and only 3 Salmon over 30 for the fall LOC. Canada is seeing the same results as well and the north shore has always had the bigger Kings, they haven’t seen that many above 30# themselves. Just a thought about the fishery.
  12. I used to do the same as you but found last few years that I have had to travel further east to get into them to the point it’s fun and not a struggle to find them. The past few years I have been fishing Oswego, Mexico, Chamont and having to drop shot them. We have found them from 10’ out to 50’ but when you do they are stacked and they aren’t small. I haven’t made the trip yet this season yet but it’s coming soon. The St Lawrence area has been hot from what I have heard but I don’t travel that far. I wish Hedges to Ginna was like it used to be but Gobies and Zebras have changed that up. Pultneyville used to awesome for topwater as well over deep water but that has slowed down as well. Hope this helps and maybe some others have seen it differently and can chime in.
  13. They don’t have any 15’s I was there looking for black ones and they had 12’s and 20’s
  14. I have 2 - 15# Shark extreme Chrome weights new in box that I am looking to sell. They are on my boat at the moment located in Kendall. I will be down over the weekend at some point. If interested let me know
  15. Meat Meat Meat, I have been running meat since end of May, now my spread has 4 meat rigs out at all times. My spoon bite does around 9 after that spoons come up and Flasher Fly takes there place. My meat rigs still outcatch FF 2-1 easily and usually gets the bigger Kings as well.
  16. And this is why I pulled my boat out of Irondequoit Bay, to many shady people walking around. They like to steal batteries out of Boat as well around there. Good luck man it sucks that this happened to you.
  17. As for Ontario I run Charters as well and as the season progressed I found my self going with less rods. I run my 3 riggers, 2 wires and usually 2 long lines off my Otters. Usually coppers and I always stay with the bait or just outside of it. Haven’t had any issues for the most part limiting out except for when the lake turns over, that makes it a bit more difficult but just a longer day.
  18. Might want to go to Lowrance sight and see if there is an update required. Most of the time that is the issue
  19. We have them by the hundreds swim by our dock every day, some small some pushing 10# or better. I would much rather see the carp swimming around than these. The lake is in a downward spiral the last few decades. Alewives, zebra muscles, quagga muscles, gobies and now the Rudd. What’s next
  20. They work and make a difference compared to other companies out there. I have had them out side by side and gone 3-1 with the cut bait from Atommik. Just look at the color in the strip from Atommik versus others. It makes a huge difference and all that is run on my boat now. Already gone thru 5 cases from atommik this season and gonna be putting in an order for 5 more this week
  21. I run them as well and like the fact that when popped the drag is less than half of a dipsy diver, only thing I don’t like is they seem to plane out which is where Dipsey divers come in cause of that erings allowing them to get deeper than a chinook.
  22. From what I noticed the other day when out it looks to be the top 30’ of water column but don’t quote me on that. I was headed for deep water and we crossed a slick and omg it was like I was running 8# weights trolling at 5mph all the sudden and when I pulled lines it wa stop to bottom. That was over 300fow and when we came back inside it was as bad at all but still clogged everything up. I don’t think any Lb line will keep that off, really need a stiff blow out of South to send it offshore.
  23. It’s in the contract that your boat must be insured and usually the marina requires a copy of insurance as well. The marina has video footage from last night around midnight of someone setting off fireworks and police investigating to see who the people were. Very unfortunate situation from some A**holes who obviously don’t give a S**t about other people property.
