  1. Haven't had it on the problem still persists so my tabs should be here today, gonna have to move my transducers around a bit but I believe I shouldn't have to throw more money into a brand new boat for a handling issue. If a hull issue then Smoker craft should take a look at the design because I am getting more responses on other threads with people having the same issues
  2. There is the difference right there. Literally it's a full V from side walls to keel. The tabs will solve the rolling for sure but shocked they didn't put in any strakes or chimes on the bottom off hull but who am I and I haven't looked at the bottom completely til now, outside of the torque from prop causing boat to pitch it's really stable. Yah I reall wanted to do what you did in the cabin to make like a rod rack where sink and potty was and add tackle storage there as well. My buddy just bought a trophy but I/O with the low motor cover in back. We rigging it to the max cause he is all out.
  3. Its a smooth as a babies but under there and run from bow to stern. I believe that's why it rolls so easily but ordered Lemco 9x9 tabs for it and got a buddy to hook me up with the stainless prop. Hopefully I get it all together this weekend and can take her for a spin. Weird thing is when I had my Tracker I never had any issues what so ever but proves every boat is different. How did things work out with the motor on the Trophy?
  4. The dealer I bought from is Towne Marine in Bloomsburg PAThe dealer that will get my business from now on is Vics Sports Center in Ohio
  5. Well I just got off phone with Vic's Sports center who is another Starweld dealer in Ohio and let me tell you if I have any issues I am taking that drive. All I did was explain the issues and they had it figured out in 10 minutes without seeing it for themselves. Trim tabs will be going on and the prop is correct for this boat. The rpm range for this motor is generally 6100-6200 and has a rev limiter to warn you. The issue with the listing to port side is because the full V of the hull and was told that it has to be trimmed up a bit which will take some of the roll out but trim tabs explicitly they said. I was shocked but I will follow there advise instead of the 4 hour drive and I am also gonna put a stainless prop on in the same size and pitch which they said is correct but my preference cause I hate giving up power for the flexing of aluminum. I will post results after the weekend when I have installed the tabs and let everyone know. Thanks for all the advise guys and has helped me look at certain things that I might have overlooked. Oh in one more note they did mention that the motor could be mounted to high but to try the tabs fist before dropping motor down to last hole. Thanks again and I will follow up for sure.
  6. Yah I checked all measurement s and pic looks that way but it's dead nuts on transom and even further down lower unit cause I had that thought as well.
  7. That is the same prop that is on my motor. Just checked it last night cause I am gonna call another Marina in Ohio and see what they suggest before I make a 4 hour road trip to hear them say I am crazy and I lose my crap on them
  8. 4.5 hour drive one way from my home and not a body of water nearby outside of the Susquehanna River nearby. I shouldn't have to being it was brand new. They should know what they are doing for the amount of boats they sell. Now I went to a semi local dealer to me here before I purchased this one so I wasn't blind going into this either and not to many bad reviews on this model either.
  9. Yes I understand the fin and it's set straight and I have hydraulic steering and there is not tension one way or the other as for the steering. The prop that is on the boat is the one set by the factory. The dealer will correct the problem but I am more upset that it wasn't water tested before I drove 4 hours and $30,000+ to have a serious safety issue.
  10. Yep you know it
  11. No strakes or Ribs on bottom it's a smooth bottom boat
  12. I know but the boat only rolls to one side that why I made that comment
  13. The boats sit totally level by itself when at dock with nobody in it. I have gone thru everything in my head that I know of it because I have never experienced this problem I am baffled. I have setup and run bass boats, driven 40' speed boats and can users as well as my twin outboard 26' Trophy. Just amazed that I can't figure out and the local Starweld dealer doesn't want to deal with it which I don't blame him cause he didn't set the boat up. Dealers have to be more conscious of these things and should water test boats before they release them to the customer. I hope for this dealers sake he gets it right cause they don't want to mess with my wife.
  14. Tell me about it. I tried recording several times but had to hold wheel with both hands. My wife was holding on for life over the weekend cause she thought she was gonna take a swim. Also just before someone spits it out, I don't run around driving like a D**k either. Usually I am with buddies on Ontario trolling or at Seneca with family fishing for panfish. The occasional cruise can't happen cause of this. I can say it's the last New boat I will ever buy.
  15. I haven't gone fully WOT but highest before I backed off was 6200, highest range for motor is 5800.
  16. Believe me I know all to well it's weird. I have a extra battery on drivers side, anchor on drivers side, all my flashers, spoons rigger weights everything I can get on drivers side to help counter it. I mean don't get me wrong at its worst it's about a foot difference between each side off level. I know the pitch is wrong on prop cause of rpms which they will correct
  17. My mistake it is a 25" shaft. So pissed I measur d wrong. I have zero cavitation when I am out whether it be calm or choppy. I can say I believe it's torque rotation issue but still have never dealt with this issue with any boats and I previously had a Tracker 18 with a 150 on it and no issues. As for trim tabs well I considered it but really would only need 1. Then the dealer says it's a weight issue also, hmm I doubt it being I added equal weight to each side except for a battery on my side which still doesn't help counter the tilt issue. Now the only time I could run was with a 200# person behind me kept boat level.
  18. Thanks Vince and I hear what your saying. They got a piece of my mind already cause I have dealt with it since day one, they asked why I mention it now and I said well I didn't want to lose any more fishing time cause I totally missed the spring fishing and then on top of that its a 4 hour drive back to the dealership which I shouldn't have to do. Frustrating to say the least but already contacted manufacturer and they advised me to start with the dealer so they are on notice as well.
  19. Ok I purchased a new boat in April, a Starweld 20 Pro w/115 Yamaha 4 stroke. I love the boat and my issue is that when coming up on plane and when on plane the boat leans over to one side. I have my suspicions as to the cause but values honest opinions from people on here. I have had my passengers sit behind me to counter balance it but when I had family out over holiday weekend it became unsafe with all the boat traffic out. I hit a boat wake and was thrown from the drivers seat to floor. I called the dealer and they claim it's the prop because I can't trim up or go wide open cause it's over rpm's. My suspicion is the motor is to higher lower unit is to short. Should be a 25" and they have a 20" on boat. Is this my issue or could it be something else. Boat is going back next week but need ammo cause we as boat owners never know what we are talking about when we go back to the dealer even though I have owned several boats big and small for over 20 years. Help cause this is going into my perch season.
  20. Also have to take in affect the changes the lake has gone thru as well. The smelt population is next to none, lakers have doubled if not tripled in poulation, the addition of zebra mussels and not to mention the gobies. All in all considered I am quite satisfied with the average salmon weighing in the mid twenties and the occasional 30+. I remember back when it was a trophy to catch one in the 20's many years ago. Also the natural reproduction is t as great either, look at the numbers that used to run the Genesee River compared to today. Have to give credit to the or reading projects or the population would be much lower than it is.
  21. Not quite the mainline is set up with Brad swivels every 10-15 feet to attach your leaders to. And then use use a heavy weight like 3# and a float attached to the top so it stays vertical
  22. The ole Seth Green stick hah we tried in Seneca and nothing but washed spoons
  23. I use them religiously. Had a hard time finding them but found them on FishUSA.com. I would order quite a few as I think they only come in 4 packs and who knows how long they will be around.
  24. The second hole in the back end of it slows the fly down I believe. I have never tried it but I am sure there are a few on here that have.
