  1. I wish I had seen this before buying my new boat. Dammit I had been looking for the exact same model just couldn't find one and here it is. That will teach me. Very nice rig
  2. Sorry guys I am just catching up been busy on Lady O this summer. Myself and obviously many others are very excited to see that this tradition will be carried on. As I mentioned previously that my family has 4 generations now fishing in it and we all look forward to it. I look forward to reading all the updates and can't wait til next year. As a side note Les hit it on the head as for a Fall derby. I myself had my last trip for salmon yesterday and now preparing the boat for perch fishing so to take away from spawning lakers would impact the fishery substantially. Great job to all that stepped up and can't wait.
  3. Great Job. Sandy is getting known for lost things. I have 2-shark weights and a torpedo plus a Ranger net out there around the pump house area. Oh yah a brand new Fish Hawk XD4 probe also. I would say I donated enough.
  4. Oh I know it all to well, 4 months after I bought the boat I had no options cause the fuel mileage on the twins that were on boat were killing my wallet. I replaced with new Etecs and didn't need fuel a month and that was taking 15-20 trips out a month. If I did it all over again I would get inboards.
  5. I have the 15's in black and high gloss. Run the black when overcast and high gloss when I am running riggers deep or on sunny days. Sometimes we mix it up and put one of each out and found it doesn't really make a difference.
  6. Well it's probably out of warranty by now but I had twin 200 Etecs and I wouldn't run anything but the 100 in it just because if I spent $50,000 on my motors and something happened cause I used cheaper oil well I would have been footing the bill cause warranty wouldn't cover it. You could get away with the 50 but wil foul out a bit faster and not sure what the off brands would burn like cause I never used them
  7. It's preference thing. I have had both and personally my last boat was 26 foot Trophy with Twin Etec outboards and I loved it. It was a fish catching machine. I worked on both and both are different to work on but IMO outboards are a lot easier as for ease of access to things. Inboard or I/O's have less to maintain but if you know the motor then it's not hard. As for the boat make well yah do some searching cause that is an opinion based thing and you could find a hell of a boat for your budget.
  8. 5 boats were heavily damaged on Saturday don't risk it go to another port
  9. I also seen yours was a bit tougher to catch on that single hook to lol
  10. Gears binding up from the torque
  11. Check lower gear oil, seems to sound like you may have a bad tooth or gears are worn down to the point it's slipping the yoke. If not that it could be in the crank end topside. Check oil for metal shavings more than normal or water mixed in oil. Either one is a bad sign
  12. You forgot this one
  13. Sorry for your loss as I know your pain. My mother is fighting lung cancer and it's a tough pill to swallow. She is in a better place with no suffering anymore and may she watch over you and your family for the rest of there days.
  14. O thought it was just me but I purchased 2 new Mag 5's this spring and first trip out lost 2 rigger weight cause the cable just snapped. Then next trip out lost another weight as I was raising. Took a look at the cable on both riggers and I found frays all through the cable. Spent enough money replacing my weight so I called Cannon and they said it must have been something I did, ok that's nice being they were new out of box. So instead of proceeding to argue with them I just went and replaced the cable on both riggers.
  15. Better make sure it's compatible with your unit before you buy one.
  16. Brand new unit came with boat just went with different unit. Box was opened but everything is there plus transducer is new in package. I accept PayPal and will ship at no extra cost to buyer US Only
  17. Give Greg at ASB Tackle a call he has them in stock and will ship them right out. They are in Newfane
  18. Yah I heard there was 44* just outside outlet at Irondequoit from the last east blow but like I said I heard and don't know cause I don't waste my time when it turns iver
  19. Just a theory but there were NE winds yesterday upwelling the lake and being that the warm water is at the west end it might be close cause that happened last week with the blow as well.
  20. Have you looked at the War Eagle spinnerbaits. Very durable and not a whole lot of tuning out of package like some big name ones I have had.
  21. https://www.nyoutdoortalk.com/blog/view/four-big-hunting-regulation-changes-210.html I stand corrected on the zones
  22. The 2015 regulation that prohibited harvest of antlered deer during portions of the bow and muzzleloader seasons in Wildlife Management Units (WMUs) 1C, 3M, 3S, 4J, 8A, 8C, 8F, 8G, 8H, 9A, and 9F has been rescinded, allowing the take of both antlered and antlerless deer during the entire bow and muzzleloader seasons in these units. I pulled this direct from DEC website unless they changed it again which wouldn't surprise me these were the zone that they lifted that ban on, all other were still antlerless only for the first 2 weeks.
  23. Bucks are back only I. Certain zones so be sure to check. If you hunt 8N still does only first 2 weeks.DEC ANNOUNCES NEW DEER AND BEAR HUNTING REGULATIONS The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today unveiled new regulations concerning deer and bear hunting, DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos announced today. These regulations increase opportunities for junior hunters to take bears, rescind an antlerless-only rule from 2015 in portions of southeastern New York and the Lake Plains, reduce antlerless harvests in two management units in the western Adirondacks, and clarify when special season tags may be used by bow and muzzleloader hunters. “We rely on hunters to help us meet our science-based population management goals, and these new regulations will help us explore alternative season structures that will advance improved population management,†said Commissioner Seggos. “The youth hunt has been very popular with families across the state, and we’re pleased to offer this expanded opportunity for junior hunters.†The new bear hunting regulation now includes the taking of bears in the youth firearms hunt over Columbus Day weekend that was previously a deer-only event. In these WMUs, deer populations are above desired levels, and the antlerless-only rule was implemented in 2015 as part of a multi-phase process to increase antlerless harvest. However, reported harvest of female deer did not differ substantially between the WMUs with the antlerless-only periods and nearby WMUs without the rule, nor did the antlerless-only periods increase reported female take as desired. In contrast, deer populations in WMUs 6F and 6J have been declining, so harvest of antlerless deer is now prohibited during the early muzzleloader season in these units. Winter weather conditions are a primary driver of deer abundance in the northern part of the state, and the winters of 2013 and 2014 were especially harsh. Coupled with mild conditions this past winter, reducing the harvest of antlerless deer should prevent further population decline and stimulate growth. The DEC expects this change to be temporary. The final regulatory change is simply a technical correction to clarify that hunters who purchase both the bow and muzzleloader license privileges may use the Bow/Muzzleloader either-fun loving and Bow/Muzzleloader antlerless-only deer tags in either season or both in one of the seasons with the appropriate implement. This has always been DEC's intent, but ambiguity in the previous wording of the regulation could have led to confusion. Hunters who purchase just one of the special season privileges are still only allowed to use the Bow/Muzzleloader tag during that particular special season. Under the 2016-17 budget, Governor Cuomo’s NY Open for Fishing and Hunting Initiative provides $3 million for State land access projects and $4 million for hunting and fishing infrastructure. The 2015-16 budget also created a new capital account, which, along with federal Pittman-Robertson funds, will be used to manage, protect and restore fish and wildlife habitat and will improve and develop public access for fish and wildlife-related recreation. This year’s commitment builds on the previous $6 million in funding for 50 new projects to provide access to approximately 380,000 acres of existing State lands for recreation, including boat launches, bird-watching areas, trails and hunting blinds, and $8 million for upgrades and improvements to fish hatcheries statewide. ### Connect with DEC on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
