I had one of the Victrolas also Known as a A&S Reel which can still be bought. The walleye guys are using them and I bought 2 for my boat but I use the Monel Stainless with Flashers on them. We tried copper but couldn't get enough on it for deeper water. That reel that perch put up is what I use now, not bad and just I added a windshield wiper motor and switch for variable speed.

Yah I am 42 and grew up around it. Gramps, my dad and uncles still do it every weekend they are at cottage. I made my own spool for reeling in the copper cause I did the floor thing for a while and linked an awful lot of copper. I have found the Victrolas over at Roy's and once in a while Catherine Valley has a few for sale. If not eBay always has a few up there cause most people don't realize what they are for.

Then you should be fine with a rigger rod just remember the TwiliTip for or wire will dig into the eye

You could get away with a med/hvy but I would be sure it has a xtra fast tip to absorb some of the shock from the fish. The purpose of a dipsy rod is to be able to fight the fish with the whole rod so it works the whole backbone thru the whole length of the rod but yet has the forgiveness when it decides it wants to run 2-300 ft of wire out. Me personally wouldn't do it after what I have been thru this season so far. Kings are hitting so hard that last week I had a rod snap right in the rod holder before I could get it out. Best of luck

I would be happy to get 2 of each of those. I'm miss my NK's. Had over 300 of them and parted ways with everything and ended up coming back to it and wish I never sold any of my spoons

Browns have moved with the temp and are being caught off the piers right is. Water off Charlotte pier was 42* due to this lovely NE blow we have had and I am hearing that the Kings have run for cover and aren't around like they have been.

I use a Okuma Convector 55 for my 400's with braid backing and it fits just fine with 45# Blood Run copper

There is a difference per say fishing boat versus some luxury items. I am a fisherman so not having carpet and pads for front deck make it nice and honestly they designed by fisherman so it was a win win for me as for cost effectiveness as well. I was looking at either $50,000+ for a Fishmaster or this which I stole. They handle well in rougher conditions and plenty of room for what I do and if the kids go they have a blast as well.

I have the 20Pro and yes it's a pain in the butt, I had to put a backing plate under the tracks to help support the rigger mounts and the rod holders. Now I went with the 60" track and the dealer said being that long I wouldn't need the backing plate but I did anyhow as a precaution. As you can see in my pic of my setup I separated my riggers from my rod holders just because I wanted them in the back corners. Everything has worked great and I love the boat. Just fished the Sandy Creek shootout and was out on Saturday in 4-6 footers side by side with all the big boys so they can hold there own.

I just spent 3 days 10 plus hours a day on the lake and was non stop matures. Here is my program and it will depend on where your at. First off temperature is key. I have 2 riggers, 2 wire and a copper out. 1 rigger I put at thermal about 60-80 down with glow spoon early then UV spoon later 2 rigger is deep usually 110-140 glow spoon early then flasher/fly later Both wires I usually run deep out 225 or better damn near dragging bottom with meat or a flasher fly and change them up from glows to greens and one always has meat on it Then I run a chute copper which is a 300 early then a 400 later with spoons early and meat later. The later meat on copper has been taking my bigger kings so far my past trips out. But you need a temp sensor cause I have had to chase temp up and down with the winds kicking the lake up lately and have had multiple matures lately this year is the best I have seen out of the past few. Silver/greens bright UV's and various yellows have been my top producers.

I have to back Sk8 up as I know the woman we buy alewives(sawbellies) from her all the time. Her supplier gets them from Cayuga lake and IS certified by NYS to do so. Larry and Roys Marina is also certified and nets his alewives directly out of Seneca. There was a decline a couple years ago and she had a supplier from Ontario delivering to her.
