Big night for two buddies
FishnChef replied to Prof T's topic in St. Lawrence River Fishing Reports - 1000 Islands Fishing
Judging by the bridge in the background I would say about half way between the u.s. and Canada. Nice catch! -
I have a 19' Crestliner superhawk and when trolling I put the bow mount in even if I'm not going to use it as it seems to help mitigate the bow riding over the waves and more go through them. I'm guessing the drag of it helps prevent the bow from popping up so much. It definitely helps. That's for trolling. As for running, just go slow. I have no desire to pound myself or my 45000 boat through the waves lifetime hull warranty or not

Oswego bust # 3
FishnChef replied to Bassin Bob's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Most of my kings yesterday bit at 2.2 and under so maybe try going consistently slower. FF bite. meat and spoons combined for only 2 of our fish. 120fow 90 down at around 58-60 degrees. If we went over a pile of bait it was pretty much a guaranteed bite or 2. find bait as they are still hungry apparently. Also liked the size 1 watermelon dipsy ff setup out 300, that took half our fish -
Open Seat Mexico Only posting this here because I'm not sure anyone reads the open seat thread. Fairly certain my buddy is going to bail on me so I will most likely have an open seat on Tuesday, all you need is to be registered for Loc. Leaving early most likely from Pinegrove launch . PM me if you're interested

Pulaski Salmon River area campgrounds

Is the pine grove launch sufficient for a 19' Aluminum to get to the lake without running aground? -

Pulaski Salmon River area campgrounds

Which state park, not terribly familiar with the area in the internet wasn't really helping me -
Pulaski Salmon River area campgrounds Heading up that way to fish for the first time Monday and Tuesday and, while I am content to sleep in my truck, one of my fishing Partners insist on having at least somewhere to put up a tent. Is there anywhere in that area that is convenient to one of the launches where we could throw up a couple tents? Don't really care if it's just state land to informally camp on or a proper, cheap Campground. Don't really want to be more than 5 or 10 minutes away from a launch Thanks

what would you do ?

Trench is between black river bay and the main lake, starts around Henderson bay and runs up beyond the stony point lighthouse. 75-140ish fow. On a Southwest or Westwind it can be brutal as it funnels the waves in. Fishing can be very good once you figure out where they are but it can also be very frustrating because all the warm water tends to get blown in and you can have good temp one day and then 70° top to bottom in 120 ft of water the next . Little early for the Kings to be far back in the bay as I discovered earlier this week and unless you have good weather or a large boat it's tough to get out far enough. Can be accessed either via the Stony launch or Henderson launch. I go there just because it's my closest launch but a lot of the options further south and west tend to be more consistently productive -
That's good to hear the fish were in the trench especially further back because if this wind keeps up that's about as far as I'll be able to get out this afternoon, I'm guessing it's not any calmer out there than it was this morning. Going to give it another go in a little bit, let you know how it goes
