Nice day on the lake, temp was down 120, but most hits came around 100 to 105 down. Mostly spoon bit, had rip on wire with Flasher fly but didn't connect

Dan,
This past Saturday we had about 30 total hits, we ended up with 15 kings and 4 lakers. Until I zeroed in on what they wanted we got several knockoffs and lost 3 matures. Also we had about 9 hits with nobody home, if your release is tight enough to set the hook its probably the fact they just were nipping at it, which happens. Sunday was opposite for us, we only had 8 bites all day. We landed one 20 lb King and lost two. The rest all hooked up tight and landed.
So if your hooks are sharp and your release is not set too loose you will better your chances but some days they are just nipping, other days they have lock jaw, and some days they just smash the **** out of whatever you put down, LOL

What a sweet boat!!
Lakebound, I was a day late or that Henderson Tiara would have been mine, lol
A sweet ride for sure, like the kicker addition.

I'm thinking it's the battery level or connections also.
The only other thing, I had two acting up and I pulled the cover off both and there was water inside the rigger. I emptied it out and resealed the cover, both worked good as new.

We fished Sunday also for the Brest cancer tournement, after Saturday we were in 1st and 3rd place for King salmon and excited to fish Sunday, however we started the day with a snapped outside rigger line, lost winger and Ball. Then lost 2 different kings that charged the boat. Fished mostly off the mountain to 2 miles past finger. Hit a 20lb King on wire Dipsey 225' out pulling a mag customized green jeans spoon.
Hit some smaller 6lb kings and some lakers, but bite was slower than Saturday.
I switched to a complete flasher/fly spread and immediately had a screamer on a rigger 125' down, but lost fish not far from boat. Over all a fun day, weather was awesome, can't wait to get back out. Good luck guys

^^^^ Same with me, if it's a friend that hasn't been out with me before that says "I don't get seasick and don't need Dramamine" I say----take it or you are not going, it's happened to many times, and I usually only can fish one day a week if I'm lucky, I can't loose a day

Awesome day, lots of action, top water column best, Spoon bite, only one hit for us on Flasher/fly, I actually pulled my wire dipseys and ran all riggers as the feisty smaller 6-8lb Kings were raising hell getting into them, LOL 15 Kings, we released all we thought would make it, only hit 4 lakers but my lowest rod was 30' off bottom.

Thanks Guys,
Wasnt always a bed of roses, we got skunked opening day. So many boats I fished on Sacketts side of Blk River Bay and got a lonely pike.
I only get to fish one day a weekend but never saw a year where I was fishing all huskys at 9:00am and had to switch to all top water an hour later cause what the screen was telling me. They would be there, get a double, and an hour later, all gone! Also, I can't count how many came unbuttoned or came off in the net. I do believe our walleye population is getting better every year, this year it seemed like if you found them they were there, but there was more bait......so when your pulling lures I always say,, " this is like pulling 99 cent McDonald's cheeseburgers thru Prime Rib, lol

Sea-IV,
I don't believe he is talking about Sandy south of Henderson harbor, I believe that Sandy is way west.

Thanks,
No problem, I guess it just shocked my system, I'm always accused the absolute opposite. My wife says I have more tackle than Gander Mountain, she doesn't understand why I need over 80 rod n reel combos, [emoji56][emoji23]
I did google the Aimar number, didn't know if someone on here had a 50/200 kh Airmar on a new lowrance unit using the same 200/50 KH. If so I was gonna buy new...plug and play for this season and then have new Airmar transducer installed at the end of the season.

Sk8man...That's why I'm asking, there is a pin in the Airmar, I didn't know if they make an updated one that plugs in. I'm 44 and have owned 12 different boats and only a Penn Yan 262 competitor with a thru hull, all the rest were transom mount, so I don't know anything about them so that's why I'm asking. Also I don't try to "get by" with anything when it comes to fishing, I'll spend the money, I just was hoping I wouldn't have to get the boat lifted and stuck out of water for weeks as all the local marinas are way behind and miss all the Salmon action.
There isn't anything wrong with the 2 10" lowrance units so I'll "get by" with them this season, lol
