  2. I love my 300’ coppers, you certainly feel the fish. Toughest thing about copper is learning how to let your line out without backlash !! Took me a couple years to get real comfortable with it. I only run 300’ coppers on line counters so I can run ‘‘em short if I want We catch a bunch of fish on them but the one thing I will say is that it’s hard to catch and release some fish epically steelhead cause the heavy line takes its toll on the fish when bringing them in.
  3. Dont forget the Twilli Tip
  4. We stay at Long Lake Camps in Sinclair We fish first week of June and now last week of September. Great place in the middle of no where Some of the biggest Landlocks come out of that lake, 10+ lbers ! Big brookies also. Gonna go there in January for the first time ever to fish for smelts and maybe a salmon or two but it can be brutally cold with temps 20-30 below in the mornings, nice and warm in the smelt camps though .. Good luck with your boat project my friend
  5. Right on Pete, The offer stands if needed I got friends in Fort Kent and Madawaska and love fishing Long lake. Nothing like chasing Landlocks and moose up in "The County"
  6. Hey Pete, Seems like you got your boat figured out and your plate is a part of it. I have a lightly used Happy Troller that I would be happy to send you if you like. Not sure what shipping would cost from Maine but it's yours if you want it. Send me a PM if you like......Dan
  7. Yes, sliders are a "free" lure, it doesn't count as another rod. You can fish them on all 3 rods if you choose
  8. I fished divers with a few different rods and twilli tips (springs) for over 25 years with no real issues and then i bought a pair of high-end Daiwa rods with roller eyes and roller tips for 500$... I couldnt stand the roller tip, it rotates about 180 degrees but the wire kept 'pigtailing' so much I ended up cutting the tip off and put twilli tips back on . I love the action of the rod and the roller eyes are fine but the roller tip sucked in my opinion . With the roller tip its hard to keep any tension on the wire when your done fishing unlike a twilli spring tip . Im sure some guys love the roller tips but my experience was a bad one.
  9. Not sure if you have run copper b4 , just take your time letting line out and use your clicker !! Many of us think its just another rod only to find out different. Took me a year or two b4 i got comfortable with it.. You will like the high speed of those 57's and they dont break the bank
  10. Yup, I have 2 of them, the line counter helps when you wanna run short . The line counter reads 380' with all the copper out so its easy to adjust Mine have 700' of 65 lb braid/ 300' of AFW 30 lb copper/ 40' 25 lb Gamma fluorocarbon /swivel.. I prefer the 30 lb AFW over Bloodrun but i might be in the minority , never had a break off and you dont need a reel the size of a coffee can to hold your line.. I can reach 80' no problem with about 100'of backing out past the copper.. Albright knots with a touch glue for insurance
  11. Hello Patricia Sorry for your loss, if you post this in the classified section i think you would have better luck.. Dan

  18. My 88 Avenger has V/8 305 with an Alpha outdrive and it is great.. 23' boat with hardtop/ 9.9 kicker /4 riggers and enough other stuff for 2 boats and its quick to get upon plane and will do 40 mph on the right day...Stock prop
  19. a pair of trolling bags will get your speed down, pretty easy to learn also.. just make sure you get a big enough pair, min 30". Beaver-Troll is the only device i have ever seen that is made for an I/O
  20. I know this is a longshot but i am looking for Lowrance Elite7x chirp sonar unit, This is the unit that was made prior to the hook model. I would like to find a new one that has been on the shelf somewhere but having no luck, would consider a good used one... I already have 2 transducers on the boat (blue cables) and would love to find another screen (nine inch would be fine also).... I realize this unit is a bit dated but it worked perfect until September. Good chance I will have to buy a newer model but I thought I would put it out there.. Thank's alot............Dan
