Last few times to get out this weekend. We are having our first baby this week and I can hardly wait. In the last week I have seen a lot of deer on there feet early in the afternoon going to the food plots. Not what I would expect given the weather. Good luck this final week to everyone. Not a shot this morning in 8a along the lake. Very disappointing that the deer numbers (not harvest)are down across the board. The DEC needs to look at the way they calculate harvests. They lead us to believe that deer numbers are high based on bogus end of the season harvest calculations. Then take away parts of our season for doe only harvests. It's time for a change, salmon numbers are down, deer numbers are low and the changes that are made are not thought out Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have done the deer survey for the DEC for the past 11 years. This year I hunted primarily in 8A where were supposed to have an over abundance of does. Had 37 sits for all of bow season with 59 buck sightings and only 21 does and 33 fawns( which most were buttons). Shot my buck on 11/2 but continued to go out to do my part for the survey. In the last 2 weeks I have had 4 shooters within 25 yards but have not seen a doe in range. My thought is will Kirsch even look at these and should I send a letter with the survey? Happy I am seeing a ton of bucks but very concerned for the coming changes. Good luck tomorrow to everyone, stay safe there will be a ton of idiots out. In June I had surgery in my shoulder not knowing whether or not I would be able to hunt at all this fall. At the end of September I was given the clearance to start shooting a few shots a day working up to twelve after a few weeks. The poundage is down to 54 but accuracy is way up. My hunting has been limited and my sightings even more limited. Yesterday I had a late start after teaching and found myself a sweaty mess sitting getting to my stand just before 4. Forgot my cell phone, pull up rope and I think my brain. At 410 I did a sequence or bleating and grunting and this guy walked in. After five minutes he knew something was up and started to leave. He was at 47 yards and the shot was true. He ran only 55 yards. A side story to this deer started on Saturday I let one of my baseball players hunt my stand. He texted me that he shot an 8 point but thought the shot was in the neck. They searched for the buck all day Saturday and Sunday and part of Monday but came up empty. The buck in the picture is the exact same one, hole in the neck and everything. Shot about 500 yards away from the initial shot. The deer weighed 196. Get settled in my best treestand way before first light with a lot of anticipation. 650 the neighbor decides it's time to show our other neighbor his new tractor. Awesome morning it will not be. He is now run in him around the woods as they yell over the engine. Gotta love yuppies Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Those are some really nice ones. It's what keeps us going out even when it's easier to sit on the couch. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
