Some boats went out and braved it. Waited with my 19 footer until 10 am to go out. Wasn't too bad. Only went 2/5 with 2 steelies due to limited time.

Tuna Tom advised not to grease mine. I clean those surfaces with rubbing alcohol. Many youtube videos on reels. Also google "Alan Tani". He has many great tutorials.

The counter needs to be shimmed. Pull counter off. Pull long gear off. Cut a shim out of clear plastic packaging material. Put back together.
Or let Tuna Tom do it.

Use a double surgeons knot to make a loop on the fly leader. Just put the loop through the flasher swivel and pass the fly through it and pull tight.

Tite-lok are about the least expensive rod holder you can trust a dipsy to. Nothing plastic. Drag should barely hold dipsy. I add a #16 rubber band from reel to wire so drag can be a little looser.

Use an ohmmeter with rigger plugged in and switch in neutral position. Check for continuity between battery negative post and the cable end at the ball. Use a long jumper wire from battery to area near rigger for testing. An open means check screw/cable contact.
Have an HDS 5 and HDS 7 touch, both gen 2, networked on my boat. Use the 5 for sonar and 7 for GPS. The touch was well worth the extra money. Have the 83/200 hooked to 5 and structure scan hooked to 7. View either one on the 5.
