I am looking for new dipsy reels, and have read that the saltist reels with the high speed retrieve may not be a good choice when reeling in a large salmon as it does not have enough horsepower? I read where a 4.2 ratio would be much better with this setup? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
I am starting to think about a lease for next season. Is there a ballpark price per acre I can expect to pay? I have looked at a lot of the leasing websites and it is a little tough to calculate based on each specific piece of property. Many include a large portion of agriculture with a small portion of woods. Is there any kind of general formula that is used for this? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
Justin it’s hard to believe with your passion for fishing that you could have a father that has never fished. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
We trolled last night in deeper water, moved in closer to shore today, couldn’t buy a bite. Mix it up a little this afternoon and try some casting. Marked a ton of fish and bait. My son will be calling for a mutiny if we don’t catch something soon. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

That warm water on Cayuga went down to 80 foot outside of deans, not sure if it was due to a blow, cause out toward the middle the surface weeds were awful as well. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
We were out Sunday, and the flea situation was a little different than I have seen before. Downrigger lines and lead core / leaders were fine, however the dipsy wires were loaded with fleas. And they were very difficult to get off the wire, not the typical quick snap and they’re gone. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
