  1. Is the cable supposed to be attached to the bracket so if the kicker falls off while on the water it is hanging from the bracket? I read the manual when I first got the bracket over a month ago and then took it in to the mechanic to install it and just got it back. I remember now that it said the cable was for on the water and not supposed to be trailered with the kicker on. The motor has a metal loop on it that looks like a connecting point for the cable but don’t see anything on the bracket itself.
  2. My first boat was a 95’ saltwater boat from Fire Island with a Yamaha 130hp outboard. Had nothing but problems with the motor and corrosion. The boat sank one day when the bilge failed ( the one time I really needed it) because it only worked intermittently because the connections were all corroded and was not easy to get to to replace. Lesson learned but I lived to tell about it.
  3. I finally got my Panther mount on the boat and the kicker on it. The manual says to use the safety cable when trailering but doesn’t say how to use it. It has an open loop on one end and a caribener type clip on the other. My boat mechanic didn’t know what it was either. Can anyone post a picture of how it’s used? I would understand it better if I could see it visually I think.
  4. I was thinking of heading out to Fair Haven tomorrow and it occurred to me that I haven’t seen a Mr. Clean report in a couple of years. Has anyone heard anything about him and is he ok? I miss seeing his reports.
  5. Ohhh that explains the two spoons on the fish. I still haven’t caught one on a cheater yet.
  6. Awesome, I would love an outing with steelhead hits.
  7. I can’t say where they are now but a few years ago I was catching them on the 4th in 20’ early morning and again later in the afternoon around Stony Point. Only 2 that day but both pushing 10 lbs.
  8. Awesome, I loved the jumps behind the boat
  9. Spent a cloudy 4th of July weekend morning trolling and landing lakers left and right. Many double headers, some successfully and others not. This rainbow hit on the front end of my last double header of the morning while heading in, my PB on the lake. Put on an aerial show with multiple cartwheels before landing it and releasing to fight another day. Happy Independence Day everyone.

  10. That’s awesome, are you running mags for browns?
  11. Oh right, I forgot about Sacketts. Is that a state launch?
  12. Good to know thanks. I’ll probably launch from Henderson since it is on my way but the way the last 2 fall seasons have gone the water may be even lower in September than it is right now. We’ll see, I’m looking forward to trying a new area.
  13. I finally found a nautical map and think it answered my question. It is only 50’ deep so would be mostly looking for a reaction bite from fish that are already dark and ready to head to the dam I am assuming. Would still like any info anyone can give on it, thanks.
  14. I have friends that own a cottage on Mukellunge Bay and assuming guys troll that area in Black River Bay in the fall? I would like to check it out but just wondering if any of you have any experience in that area. I don’t know how deep it gets in there and if the salmon stay deep there until they run or are already shallow and spawning if they are up that far. I prefer to target fairly fresh fish that time of year.
  15. I have 4’ (49” actually) of unused 3/8” above deck fuel line leftover from a project. Perfect for a kicker motor install. $7 plus shipping unless you want to pick it up.
  16. Yep I’d definitely rather find the ‘eyes than bass wherever I go, especially in the river. Still trying to find my first one out of there. Nice job 👍🏽
  17. I agree that scent doesn’t hurt but not always necessary. I have used old school curly tail bass worms without scent, Impulse plastics , Berkeley power worms and have caught fish on them all. In fact, I think I’ve caught less with the power worms that have the most scent. There may have been other factors involved since I usually only use whatever ones I have in the boat or kayak at the time.
  18. I have 2 fixed 45 degree stainless flush mounts that I replaced with 90 this spring. You can have them
  19. Every report helps, thanks for sharing.
  20. Thanks for the report. I’ve never had any success out of Fair Haven but plan on giving it a try next week when I get my boat back. Do you go east or west out of the chute?
  21. I have done well with plastics on harnesses and use them more than real crawlers lately. Definitely keeps the bycatch rate down but on some days I think they do want the real thing. When running harnesses is the game plan I start with the real thing and then throw in the plastics to see if they are reacting the same. My 2 biggest Lake O walleyes have come on harnesses with gulp crawlers, 9&10#.
  22. Call him up if you’re interested. His number is above. Some guys on here don’t check their messages often.
  23. Wow, if this doesn’t sell I’ll be in the market for one next season after I sell mine hopefully at the end of the season. I’m sure it will though, very nice boat.
