  1. I only ice fish up there but all I can offer for advice is use a good map or better if you have one on your finder to see where the shoals are and start there so at least you aren’t going in blind. Independence point isnt far from the launch.
  2. Thank you for that, I just sent Rich an email. I would love to learn how to catch walleyes in that area
  3. Can anyone recommend a guide that knows the Grindstone area specifically? I would love to learn some tips on the smallmouth, walleye and pike fishing around there and see how it’s done.

for sale : usa Sea Ray Laguna 17

Great boat, wet ride without the enclosure on
  5. Well you know Karma. We may have lost out on a couple hundred bills but that’s nothing compared to what he has coming. Pray for him.
  6. Sorry to hear. Looks like he finally deleted his account, now beware of his new log in.
  7. Maxwelll—-Do not buy from this person. Says he is selling off his tackle because he has stage 3 cancer. I just read this warning after wondering if I had been scammed and basically everything went down that they warned about. He contacted me about an item I was looking for, told me to pay Venmo or PayPal -Friends and Family and was a newly created account with no history. I expect that garbage on Craigslist but my guard was down on this site since LOU members aren’t out to screw anybody. Probably out $200 but hopefully this loser doesn’t get anyone else. Home with Covid this week so I’ll have time to shop my woes away.
  8. Yep grubby, looks like the ones I’ve caught on Cayuga lake last two years and won’t go back. I used them for fertilizer in my garden. What a shame
  9. Look on Craigslist. There is a guy that takes old boats off your hands free of charge. I did it two years ago with my old fiberglass boat that was beyond repair after it capsized.
  10. Yes totally worth it. I fish solo often and last year discovered the minn kota auto pilot feature. It is a game changer. If it’s too choppy for the trolling motor solo I use my main motor and let the auto pilot do the steering for me so my attention and hands are focused on managing lines.
  11. Thanks guys, your input helped. I ordered a 110ah battery from Walmart that looks like it will do even more than I was originally hoping for. Paid quite a bit more for it but I may comfortably be able to run my trolling motor throughout my entire half day trips which would be awesome.
  12. I think I will end up cutting the floor out around the area and replacing the core with some sort of plywood or other sturdy material. I’m not crazy about the floor looking like a jigsaw puzzle but I think if I use some 3M white silicone sealant to seal it back in it won’t be too noticeable maybe.
  13. Sorry, not a bass fishing post but not getting any replies on other threads and since you guys use electric trolling motors the most, here it goes. If you could only have one trolling motor battery on your boat for under $300 what would it be? Looking to run my 55lb thrust minn kota at less than half speed for a few hours at a time but don’t want to spend $2000 on a battery. I would love some suggestions from guys that do it. Thanks in advance.
  14. I am going to replace all 3 batteries on my boat (1 starting, 1 house deep cycle, 1 trolling motor deep cycle) this spring and wondering what to get for my 55lb thrust minn kota that I would like to get around 4 hrs min. of trolling with. This would be my only battery dedicated to the motor and would like a good battery that won’t break the bank. Any recommendations?
  15. Thanks for the launch report. Hoping for decent weather to do a shakedown cruise next weekend.
  16. I was able to look underneath the floor through an access hole and it isn’t the stringers. The fiberglass has delaminated from the middle layer that is sandwiched between two layers of fiberglass. The soft area is about 1’x1’, do I have to cut the floor or can I fill it by injecting it with filler?
  17. Thank you I’ll try that. Last year I wrapped the rail with some electrical tape but the clamp just ended up shredding it
  18. I have Big Jon planer reels clamped onto the vertical rails of my center console and they constantly slip as I’m trying to reel the boards in. Is there something I can do to make the clamps more effective and keep them locked in place?
  19. Would you be willing to split them up for $200/ea? I’m looking for just one.
  20. I kept a ratchet tie down on my last one until I got to the launch since I trailer my boat everywhere. Definitely protects the transom and bracket that way.
  21. I have a 2’ diameter soft spot on the back deck of my Sea Ray Laguna and wondering what it would cost to have something like this taken care of. I believe the stringers are wood beneath but no access to get under there besides a 1’ access hole in the floor. If anyone knows who does this kind of body work, I would appreciate any info.
  22. Congrats, great deal. Just spent $70 on a new one
  23. Daaang I’m looking l or 2 for one of these, that went quick.
  24. Nice job! I know you did well last spring but I’m hoping for a better season this year for those brownies
