    Happened to me twice fishing on Oneida lake, once casting and another while ice fishing. Both were cloudy days but our lines floated up out of the water when casting and our rod tips were literally buzzing both times. I could see how it could cause some static issues especially with electronics on the boat.

    Yeah, if my boat was shocking me I’d be nervous as well. Is all the wiring new? Seems like if it is it should be an easy solution for someone that knows electrical installations.

    Don’t miss those hand cranks too much Clark. I was fishing 80’ down with both riggers yesterday and after going off 12 times on lakers my arms were feeling it pretty quick.

    At least you guys were able to drop lines in. I went out to 110 and turned around and white knuckled it back to the pier heads to troll around for an hour trying to keep the boat on track while fishing until breakfast sounded more desirable.

    I’ve been watching Windfinder.com and it hasn’t changed saying south wind w/ 0.3’ waves until evening. Planning to pack up by 11 am so hopefully it’s calm until then.

    Thanks, I have some slide divers but my biggest isn’t a mag and only 3 3/4” dia. Not sure what the max depth would be with wire pulling a paddle.

    Floating eggs sacks are good if you are alone. Glow spoons (Cleo’s, moonshines) that are heavy enough to throw out are popular. Don’t overlook crankbaits ( floating or deep divers)

    I usually run spoons behind my wire divers but want to try a flasher/ meat rig next time out. What is a good leader length between the diver and flasher if I usually fish solo. Also, is a Twinkie rig set up a bad idea for this since it adds quite a bit of length to the entire rig?

    I used to fish Trestle Pool pretty far upstream on the SLR on Labor Day weekend and have had one fish on after another. September 1st isn’t early. The last few years have been late but this time of year it can happen quickly.

    As a kayak fisherman I would also suggest trolling dipseys until you mark a pod of fish then jig them.

    I would like to try the boat launch at the south end of Skaneateles lake but don’t know anything about it. I hear it’s shallow and wondering if I can get my boat in there? If anyone has any info could you DM me?

    Good point, I haven’t travelled with it on its side for more than a few miles from the marina.

    Yeah, my rule of thumb is anything over 10mph from the west on that lake is a no go. It wouldn’t be any fun. Thanks for confirming.

    Supposed to head out to sylvan beach today to take a friend and his kids fishing with the boat but wind report isnt looking good. Anybody by the lake today to confirm weather/ wind report?
