  1. I launched at 4pm or so and didn't pay anything....although we didn't keep anything parked there
  2. Haha god that one is fat. Awesome catches
  3. Hey good idea...haven't caught any since I was a kid. Think they'd be hanging out around the docks? Can't say as I know a thing about their habits this time of year
  4. Gonna launch Saturday too and probably stay over night and make a weekend out of it. Wave to the black Lund if any of you see me. Tight lines
  5. As of now my phone's weather report is showing the weekend after this coming to be in the 50s/60s. Sounds good to me
  6. To the original poster - can't you just connect the battery wires from the trolling motor to the factory wiring on your boat so you can still use the 3 prong plug?
  7. Bummer. I really wanted to get in there during the early Spring action. Oh well. Looks like I'll be putting off launching the boat yet another weekend given the weather report. Can't complain too much it's still early I suppose..
  8. Thanks for the info. I talked to a truck driver a few months back at work who has a place somewhere on that bay and said it wouldn't be until around 4th of July. I really hoped he was mistaken!
  9. Any idea when the Blind Sodus channel will be dredged??
  10. You will hear a lot of mixed reviews on smallies in the lake. Being you're pretty far east of the negative feedback I typically hear from guys fishing for them, you should be in a good area. I try to find them in the summer around 25 to 15 FOW. Not much of a bait fisherman but it can be hard to resist soft shells in the lake. Find out where they are hanging out, when you mark a bunch just drift around and drop shot for them whether it's live or artificial bait
  11. What # thrust is it? Make sure you have the proper gauge wires on your boat so you aren't melting anything...I would've had that problem when I upgraded mine if I didn't have it re wired with 6 gauge.
  12. I'd rate it as poor. Don't they just go by nice weather = good day to fish and rainy = poor fishing? I was looking at it last summer and that's all I really noticed
  13. Fishing within their boundaries and disregarding guards yelling at you? I must say that's pretty ballsy....
  14. Both of which I have, so i may have to give it a shot in a couple weeks when I get the boat down there.
  15. Thanks for the info mr clean, and sweet looking brown! I only ever trib fish for trout and the world of trolling scares me because of how much money I'd probably spend. But casting spoons from the boat sounds good for now
  16. I'll be looking to get my boat back in Fair Haven by the first weekend in April assuming the temps are decently above freezing, enough so that it can stay on the hoist all year. Can't wait. What kind of action around the pier could be expected around then? I mostly bass/pike fish around the bay but this is my first full season with the boat so I've never fished Fair Haven in April
  17. Thanks Sylvan, thats good info. I told him a while back to get trail cams but i've never used them. At this point it may be useless, the dock is iced up anyway and the bubbler is sitting on the bottom. It's safe to say that someone for whatever reason doesn't want my Dad to have a bubbler this year. I'll be curious to find out if our neighbor had any issues with his.
  18. Was it on the canal? I know it's not that close to Macedon but Irondequoit Bay has quite a Spring Bullhead draw
  19. Really didn't intend to call out ice fishermen as scum bags rather than whoever doing this as being a scumbag. Just a weird deal being that it's not like we have any enemies down there. Friendly with everyone, it's a tight knit block for the most part. Oh well.
  20. It's just an odd thing to have happen twice, especially this time of year. It is completely desolate. A neighbor threw out the idea of ice fishers, but if they wanted to fish around the docks then it'd just be easier to fish open water that the intact bubbler would create... I don't know. Just looking for ideas. A camera was my first thought too.
  21. Never thought so either but, here we are... Kidding. But really, can you think of another reason to mess with someone's dock bubbler?
  22. My Father has been experiencing some interesting things with his dock de-icer/bubbler. The first instance being one of the suspension ropes being cut around December. A very clean cut, not a worn out frayed type of break off. The second instance was last weekend, he discovered everything was unplugged, out of the receptacle and thrown in the water. These are pretty tight fitting plugs that aren't easily removed. My question is if this is something to suspect scum bag ice fisherman would be doing or if anyone has heard of similar problems. This is unusual for this area, it's pretty dead in the winter and not anywhere you'd expect this.
  23. Have you posted on centerpintalk.com or the used float/centerpin fishing gear for sale fb page? Those may be more useful
  24. Ttt....still for sale, not in a rush to move but open to reasonable offers
  25. To the top !..
