  1. 15 minute no wake wouldnt be worth it. I'll drop it in and pull it out daily at that point
  2. Im going up mid april and i'd like to be able to leave the boat in the water for the 5 days im there. Any places come to mind that will allow me to pay a daily or weekly rate to leave the boat in a slip?
  3. Anyone run these? They are listed as medium action 8-12 lb line rating. Seems perfect for spring browns but for all I know it's a broomstick with some line guides on it.
  4. I've never been up there before but would love to throw spoons in there for biters in the fall

  6. Gents How high up river can a traditional boat go on the black river? How close to the dam?
  7. So I decided to go to the horse's mouth. I called Michigan Stinger. I was told that the spoons were designed to go straight onto a snap lock swivel. When they fish them, they do not add a split ring. He did say that a split ring is personal preference. I guess I'm going to go with the guys that designed them.
  8. Do any of you use split rings on the spoons?
  9. Do you guys add swivels to your MI Stingers or do you just clip them onto the snap lock?
  10. Hope you get those riggers.
  11. Looking for folks with experience. Is a standard yellow bird planer of adequate size for trolling for spring Browns on Lake O or do I need bigger ones? Thanks in advance.
  12. Looking to buy a driftboat. At least 16ft. Don't need anything fancy. Motor cutout is a big plus.
  13. Two manual riggers. Sometime in the spring.
  14. Anyone up near Pulaski/Oswego that will install downriggers for me? I don't trust myself to do it right. Sure it will need additional bracing, etc
  15. Thanks for the response. Main motor for trolling. No kicker. Can be rope started(have a starter cord under the cover. I also bring out a 1700 peak amp jump starter box onboard at all times. I will troll ontario 4 times a year. Run the bays here in NJ, Thousand Islands twice a year.
  16. My buddy is giving me grief that I only have 1 battery on board. I have no trolling motors. I have a fishfinder, vhf, 2 bilge pumps and a radio. I'm comfortable having a fully charged jumper box on board and he says I should parallel a second batter. Do I need a second battery if is tge jump box a sendible safe alternative?
  17. thanks. I looked there back to August before I posted. Will go back furhter
  18. I plan on flat lining spoons and rapalas for browns in the spring. Im looking for a good rod/reel combo(lighter the better)(cheaper the better). Any recommendations?
  19. I have a 1996 196 fishmaster I picked up this summer. It's a nice boat. It came stock with a 90 2 stroke. Super high freeboard. I troll at 2.2 with it just in gear and top out at 30
