  1. Blood Run Tackle Co. in conjunction with local supporting dealers are excited to announce the availability of pre-spooled trolling reels with copper, stainless, mono and braid for Salmon and Walleye. Through our local dealers, custom trolling reels from Shimano, Daiwa, Okuma, and Penn are now available with all sizes and configurations of premium Blood Run […] (Read more...) 2. Having fished around the country with numerous Blood Run Pro Staff members for various species including Tuna, Striper, Salmon, Wahoo, Walleye and Kingfish, without a doubt I am still convinced we fish the most complicated program in the world. In no other fishery will you find boats pulling 12 + rods with multiple line types with wire, braid, mono, fluorocarbon, copper or leadcore. But the most interesting conversations I have with […](Read more...) View the full article on Blood Run Tackle website...
  3. Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend, we will be at the Niagara show starting Friday mid-day.. Bring your reels if you want them spooled with fresh line, we will have a linewinder running. If you want to make sure we have something, email in advance at info@bloodruntackle.com. We will have some pre-spooled coppers and wire reels, along with one of our dealers Colville Outfitters will have plenty of reels and line also. Get there early if you want some Sea Flee, last year we sold out before Lotsa, trying to bring more this time!
  4. We will have just about every Great Lakes trolling reel available on our website in the next week or so, ALL will come standard with upgraded carbon fiber drags. Stay tuned for announcements.. We will also have the new Okuma 55LS, which is a Convector 55L with the Clarion hi speed system...but for Convector prices....they will be available end of March early April. These will not be easy reels to get, limited supply.
  5. I know Dreamweaver will be at the show the whole weekend, Sunday will have others, Fat Nancy's is usually there and they have lots of SD's
  6. We will be there the entire weekend. Just an fyi for anyone interested in the line winding..as Paul mentioned, we will be working in conjunction with Colville Outfitters whose booth is directly across from ours. If you want to buy some new reels and get them spooled up, stop by our booths and we should have what you need. If you are coming in for the Lotsa seminar, you can drop your reels off in the morning and we can spool them up for you. As a note, we have as much product as we can bring, and combined with Colvilles inventory we should be able to cover everyone if you need spooling. But...we can't guarantee enough stock of everything, so first come first serve. If either of us have it in our booths for sale, we can spool it. If we are out, we are out. We will have some pretty good deals as usual on copper, stainless, fluorocarbon, sea flee, our new braid, walleye lines, ice fishing lines and steelhead lines. We had a pretty good run last year in the early part of the show, and by the time the Lotsa marketplace started we were low on a few items (should bring more this year), so if you want/need something for sure send us a PM here and we will try to get you taken care of, either ourselves or Colvilles. And we are always available to talk about planer board rigging, releases, knots, copper and stainless repairs, spooling techniques, reel reviews, rods, dive curves and other helpful info even if you are aren't ready to purchase at the show. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
  7. Some very good points here, experimentation and not fearing experimentation is key. There are a number of anglers that successfully run 3 wire divers a side or more at a time when the diver bite is hot, or run 5 coppers a side when the copper bite is hot. Being flexible and adjusting to real time activity and having the right gear and confidence in it is key. If you can capitalize on those situations by having the confidence and the right gear, your catch rate will increase noticeably.
  8. True true. One of our captains runs an 18 foot modified jon boat with 4 boards a side using inlines and bird trees for his rods..
  9. Don't give up on those 44's just yet. If you can get to the Lotsa show, bring them with you. We will trade you a set of our modified 44's for your stock boards. The modified boards will run so far out and so easily it is almost like they are not even attached. They are the only boards we run now..for 150 coppers and longer. 5 boards a side...
  10. Sale updated with our new Cadence Trolling Braid in 50lb and 30lb test...1000 yard spool for $56. Perfect for copper/leadcore backing.
  11. It kind of depends. If you were doing a shallower program for browns in the spring I would say 20 or even 15. If you are doing the standard salmon and steelhead program, 30lb is all we use on our own rigs....for coppers, cores and divers.
  12. Happy Holidays from the crew at Blood Run Tackle!
