Me , Wayne , my pal Seth , went out of sandy around 5:30 am this morning . 7-10 lost a real nice steel on 10 lc due to the hook straightening out . Lost another that could've been a lake trout , rest were kings , low teens in weight . Nothing major but not too bad . 170 fow was our best water , black and green and a glo spoon took all the fish , with a blue dolphin getting the hook straightened out . Got a lil rough , slowed way down, we came In around 11 -11:30 . Took a quick ride up Sandy Creek , very nice back there , I never knew .
Me , Wayne , and my pal Seth went out for a trio trip . We went out of Sandy today as well with a slow but fairly steady pick . Ended up 6-7 with a real nice steel and and pretty nice laker in the mix. We went all over looking for change in temp . Went all the way out to 320 fow . Took a steel out there in the top 10 fow . Came back in and whacked another one in the top 10 at like 55 fow . Still seem to be in search mode just covering as much water as possible . Doesn't seem to be a depth that is the magic number yet . Started getting a little " nautical " so we came in around 1:15 .
Use a styrofoam cooler. Hook spoons on the top edges inside the cooler . Also good to throw your flashers flies and anything else you may need . Perfect and cheap . You can sturdy it up a bit by adding duct tape to outside of the cooler
Me , Wayne , and my pal Dave gave er a go with our shakedown trip . 3 for 3 Browns . Caught 1 around ship builders . After about 3 hours we decided to head down to the river looking for better water... That water was clear clear clear . Got to the river found some decent water where temp moved from 44.5 degrees all the way to 49.5 degrees . We thought we were gonna kill it but only ended up with only two more . Fished everywhere from 10 fow to 60 fow . It was a real grind today but a super nice day . Boat ran well , gear worked well . My time and money into my rig is starting to pay off . It was Dave and Wayne's first trip together and they seemed to get along well . 2 on a rapala perch pattern. One off board , one out the chute . One off rigger on a frog pattern stinger .
Out of I bay fished 100-200 best water was 120 for us . Spin doc off dipsey were best for us today whacking a feisty king 12 lb , and a bunch of lakers 8-10 lbs . Also got a couple bonus steelhead on riggers 55 ft down , cookie cutter size . Although out fish were mostly average it was great to move a bunch of rods and having a rookie on board he caught the addiction . Thanks to captain of the reaper for bringing us out and good luck in the derby boys . Me wayne and the reaper want a board fish bad
