I'll keep this short and sweet and if this post isn't allowed please feel to remove it. I am thinking about unloading my 2001 StarCraft Fishmaster 1961 because my friend that I fished with on Seneca bought his own rig and my son is really getting into bass fishing. The boat is in extremely good shape (needs vinyl floor replaced and some carpet). It has the Mercruiser 3.0 that is extremely fuel efficient. I have 2 Walker Electric Auto Stops and the boat is rigged with a Fish Hawk X4, Garmin 73DV at the console, Garmin Striker 4 on Bow, MinnKota 24V Powerdrive V2 on the bow. All of the upholstery has been replaced (including the removable seats by the I/O enclosure) and there are 4 new as of last year Captain Chairs. there is a swim ladder and I do have an enclosure for the console area as well. AM/FM/BT receiver with 4 speakers and a Marine Radio and antenna. My father in law WAS (retired this year) the marine mechanic at our local marine since 1975 and knows these Merc/Mercruiser products like the back of his hand. It was maintained by him since new and I am the 2nd owner. I will make it a point to take pictures and such if there are any interested parties. If you want to reach out by phone DM me and I will provide my cell number there. I will also put the boat for sale in the boats for sale forum. Thanks, Jim

Looking for a single or dual axle trailer for my 2001 StarCraft Fishmaster 1961. Boat weighs 1430lbs and has an 8' beam i believe. Anyone have anything out there? Surge brakes would be a plus. Thanks, Jim

Got an issue guys... Im bringing my cousin up to fingerlakes as he just enlisted in the ARMY and I am taking him away fishing for a week before he ships out. At any rate, In preparation for coming up I decided to change the batteries in my X4 probe. Unfortunately when I changed the batteries one of the terminal connectors that was connected to the battery pack had disintegrated. I called Fish hawk and they told me to remove the battery pack connector. I did so and the connector was also disintegrated. I had FIsh USA overnight one to me but in the event that this thing doesnt come Friday, can anyone confirm which lead (positive/negative) goes to the pin connectors on the probe? I think I have some old motherboard connectors that will fit but it was that disintegrated that I cant tell which went where. Thanks for the help! Jim

It was tough for sure. I stayed from Long point south for the most part. Thursday we struck out, Friday we had one brown on a 9 color core that was maybe 4lbs, Saturday we had 2 small lakers and another brown that was smaller than the one we caught , and Monday we struck out. I dont get to fish the lake often and generally struggle but was ok with the fact that I didnt knock them dead because of that. Hopefully one day I will have as much knowledge as Les and Nick and have more fun. There was a ton of bait down south also. Jim

Anyone have some pictures of a swim platform on the back of a StarCraft Fishmaster or Islander? Just picked one up in the classifieds and was looking for a general mounting height. THanks, Jim

Good morning guys. Can anyone tell me where I can get auto stop line kits (the magnets/shrink tube)? I cant find them anywhere. I left a VM for the people at Berts but havent received a call back. I might be able to get away with using the stuff thats on my downrigger cable now and just put new shrink over it but I would like to grab 2 new sets if possible to put on these new 400' cables. Also, If anyone happens to has a PDF manual for these could they please send it to me? Thanks, Jim

I'm glad the idea was scrapped. I've only been fishing the derby for a few years but it seems more often than not these days that tradition is being overlooked to simply progress. (Kind of like these bozos in the NFL that wont stand for the national anthem). And to be honest, the fact that Seneca has been slow makes placing or winning the even much more satisfying. It could even be a benefit as not as many boats are landing fish and increasing your odds to win. I do it to spend time with my friends and enjoy a sport that I love. The potential of winning something is just a bonus. Big thank you to all that have been working to put the event on the map again. Jim -

at least I didn't get skunked. ran out to 230' and had riggers at 130 and 150 and tripped them both. 1 for 2. had quite a bit of bait out there as well. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Finally found out some info on this reel. Seems as though its rated for 300 yards of 30lb mono that has a diameter of .022. I have a 200 yard spool of 18lb sufix lead core and its diameter is .025. If I throw 60 yards of 65lb power pro at .016 diameter I should have plenty of room for my leader. Thoughts?

Thanks for the update Nick. Im heading up Wednesday night and will be bringing some old timers along for a few days of fishing. Were the fleas a PITA? Message me if you want to grab a beer or something. Jim

Disregard guys. I will have them tomorrow. Grainger carried similar knobs that are rated for heavy duty, high strength applications and they are only 3 bucks a piece. Here's a link if anyone ever needs them. https://www.grainger.com/product/INNOVATIVE-COMPONENTS-Four-Prong-Knob-3GDT6?searchBar=true&searchQuery=3gdt6 Thanks, Jim
