  1. Thanks for the input guys. My longest copper is 300 and do what Les does which is add weight if necessary. But yes sometimes skippeys fall victim. Same with down riggers in my minimal experience, meaning if I set the release to light bigger fish hit it and don't get stuck hard and have time during slack line to shake the hook. Too hard skippeys don't fire. So I find a happy place in the release and pay close attention to rod tip action. Part of this post was I wondered if say a big paddle and meat was to much resistance to get down to where you "think" you are depth wise versus just a magnum spoon or smaller 8" flasher with fly or spoon. 2. That's one stuffed box, sweet. No pressure bringing a buddy out that never caught a king.
  3. Sea Ark. Pretty heavy duty well built semi v with a jet outboard. I use if for all kinds of fishing and duck in. Not the best for the lake just have to pick the days wisely. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  7. Thanks Mr-E , I try to keep it going . I think the sibling rivalry helps keep it going, We were all headed somewhere together this evening and the topic of who has caught the biggest salmon, walleye etc , dominated the conversation. Lol. All good fun and eating healthy . Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  12. Just wondering what everybody's preference is to run on copper, Clean spoon?,flasher spoon? Flasher fly? Etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Yes , a lot less reporting . I post when I go but it's not much because I live far away. One of the things I noticed is everybody gets tight lipped around tournaments, and I understand ,but there seems to be more and more tournaments so less and less reporting. Nice report ! 14. I use them ,they work great . Bigger the size the more depth if you want it. Easy to remember how much line out to how deep your running With the weight set on the #1 position it's double the line out to the depth you want. With the weight set at the #4 position it's triple line out for depth you want. I find them easy to reel in when the diver is tripped to. 15. My wife and daughter didn't go Sunday so me and my son made the journey . Warm water inside ,I did not mark anything including bait under 120at least I didn't. So we dropped gear while looking and in about half an hour we had two skippeys and a really nice steelhead caught on carbon 14 and one of the skippeys on a Shelley snack. I seen boats working inside so slowly head closer , had a nice rip and was gone before the rod was out of the holder on a minion meat rig. I'm warm water. When we got in about 113 fow marked bait ,some big balls and some with hooks around some not. Circled thru and came at them at different directions to see if that would trigger them and at different speeds ,nothing, frustrated and out of time we headed back in. Highlights of the weekend were my wife and daughter each getting to reel in some fish, and my son learning more and how to set rods and help make it happen . And my favorite part was my daughter's turn on the rod and it turned out to be an 18 pounder and man it was an epic struggle back and forth ,give and take ,intense moments, oh not with the fish but between me and her, her arms were tired and wanted to hand off the rod . We cheered her on and her biggest salmon hit the net. Slightly bigger than her older sisters salmon , so the battle continues between siblings who's was bigger. 16. Hit it again . I give a better report after tomorrow's trip out but today was 3 kings ,one 18 pounds the other two were low teens ,and two steelhead. Riggers and divers with meat and carbon 14 doing it for us . One other quick swing and a mis. We ventured out a little to 220 ft and caught most of our fish and most were caught 55 down. Hopefully tomorrow we catch a few? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Hey guys, had so much fun last weekend I'm trying it again but this time I brought two new crew members,Mrs Wishinfishing and my daughter, fingers crossed. Would any of you fine Lou members hit me with the down temp. I do not have it. We're heading out in the morning and also Sunday morning. Good luck everybody Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  19. My son and I hit Fair Haven Friday evening thru Sunday morning. Checked in at Screwie Louies Fri afternoon Hit the lake for a couple hours late evening to knock the cobwebs off and see if we could find fish . First 10 minutes on a minion meat rig had a hit , was on for 2 seconds. Bloods pumping now. Ten minutes later our first fish hit the deck and came in at 18 pounds. Half hour later another mid teen king. We fished till 9 . Not bad for two hours I felt good. We fished in 180-220. Saturday morning set up a about 120 heading for our marks from the night before. Ten minutes into it it started . Most fish in the mid teens for us with a couple skippeys in the mix. Most fish came on minion meat rigs set from 50-70 down. Few fish on spoons ,carbon 14 , caramel dolphin, seasick waddler . We ended Saturday with over 20 bites and 10 of them making it to the net. No break offs , most of the misses were quick . Did have some trouble with fleas clogging up the tip and cheaters , allowing a few fish to get off 40 feet from the boat not being able to real em in. I don't have down temp but had fish from 30-70 down adjusting depth as the fish told me to. Funny how specific fish can be ,and one swing and a mis and three fish in a row on minion meat rig green glow 70 down with 5 other rods adjusted to that depth when the hits started, but that's what they wanted and I kept doing it. Sunday morning had surface temp 10 degrees warmer and the fish were slow for us but managed a few with the last fish a 20 pound king down 50 feet over 180 . Great weekend with just me and my son ,he reeled in most which was my pleasure. I felt like I was hit by a blow torch Sunday by noon when we finished. Big shout out to minion meat rigs that tore the fish up fore us. And for Screwie Louies for being very accommodating and clean nice cabins and having any tackle a guy would need including meat and ice. Going to try and post a few pics. Hope you enjoy.
