  1. Alright guys, We throw a lot of the fish back, but for those we keep, Im getting tired of kneeling at side of boat with a board trying to hold onto both the board and the fish without losing my knife overboard. I know that every boat setup is different, but just looking for ideas that anyone uses for an onboard fish cleaning station. Pics would be great if you can. Thanks and tight lines!
  2. First, I am impressed that you pulled off a fishing trip on mother's day. Next I must say that was just great. To be able to save that memory on video is absolutely priceless. Way to go!!!! Sent from my SM-J727V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. I will say this, imo it is worth figuring out and running. Usually our biggest fish of the trip comes off meat Sent from my SM-J727V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Interesting question. I have always just checked it at surface and have had great luck Sent from my SM-J727V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. I recently heard that you can attach leadcore to a planer release with no problem but I had always believed you should attach to mono only. Anyone attaching leadcore or copper directly to their release on planers? Sent from my SM-J727V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Sincere sympathies but she is certainly smiling down on you. What fow were you running mainly with the action? Sent from my SM-J727V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  10. wow , great day, thanks again and tight lines!
  11. Great report. I know you said everything took fish but did you find riggers or long lines more productive? Dipseys, etc? Thanks again Sent from my SM-J727V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Mine are like the bottom pic, only duals.
  13. The big jons in the pic are not a single bolt. They are in a track with 2 set screws holding them in place impossible for them to turn. The duals that I run are specifically made for dispels and are indestructable so far
  14. Big Jon Ratcheting diver Holders no question for me. Big Jon are so heavy duty and great customer service as well. Ratcheting makes grabbing the rod extremely easy when it starts screaming A bit pricey but well worth it in my opinion
  15. have had good luck with big game mono on the riggers (generally 30# with appropriate floor leader size based on the time of year. For dispeys, wire all the way. I made the change a couple years ago from firemen and never looked back
  16. Unbelievable amount of info here. Really appreciate it. I have a couple copper set ups and big boards but have been a bit intimidated so the rods usually stay in the rocket launchers. With this info I will try it this year. Thanks again
  17. It's strange bit I find it is a day to day, trip to trip thing Sent from my SM-J727V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. I wish a deal had been available like this when I started out! Sent from my SM-J727V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Thanks guys. Good tips. I use a dbl uni knot and pretie my leaders as well . Prob just a but longer to tie then the swivels. Also a good idea on splicing the last 120 ft of mono before the fall Sent from my SM-J727V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Hello all! Like most of you, I have been tuning and organizing my gear anxiously waiting for my shakedown cruise. For the past 3 seasons I have loaded my mono rigger reels with smaller mono (like 12-20#) and then flouro leaders of 8-10#. Then mid season I have usually changed that out to 30# mono and 12-15# floor leaders due to fish size and fleas. My question is , since I am running flouro leaders, is it really necessary to change the mono mid season, or should I just leader down with heavy mono through entire season ? Meaning use 30# mono all year and change leaders out according to season. I should mention that I am not talking about Brown setups as I have separate rods and setups for those. Thanks for all of your help!
