  10. YES...we caught some just west of the plant on Monday/Tuesday in 60-70 ft of water. We fished spoons and caught salmon 50-55 down 75 back, some down 25 caught fish too! Green/silver spoons
  11. I fished the Mexico/ Oswego area on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and did pretty well on a mixed bag of browns, salmon and lakers. Sunday we fished Mexico bay for browns and caught three 5-6 lb fish. Monday we decided to head west and I did the best in front of the plant or just west in 50-70 ft of water. Most of the salmon were coming on spoons 50-55 down, 75 back but Tuesday evening we were marking some fish around 20-25 ft down and decided to run some spoons higher. We fished on Monday and Tuesday afternoon and we caught 6 salmon between 14-18 lbs. Green/silver spoons were hot!
  12. Yes, I was just there on Tuesday and everything is fine with the Mexico State boat launch. I actually launched from Salmon Country marina and headed out...

  19. That certainly looks like a full adipose fin, not sure what the other ones look like. I am not familiar with the tagging program there, so having an adipose fin may be a good indicator of wild origin. I would also look at the other fins to check there condition as well before determining if it originated from a hatchery. Typically the dorsal and caudal fins will show some signs of abnormal growth such as bent fins rays, damaged tissue, lumps and bumps along dorsal fin rays etc...
  20. Char master, Yes it is certainly possible for the adipose fin to grow back after being clipped. Actually, it is something that is considered for tagging studies and there is a lot of research out there that explains this very well. If you look closely at the fin, you may be able to tell if the top of the fin is fairly flat and is not rounded like a natural adipose would be. If you have some pictures that show this up close, I may be able to help you determine if it is a clipped fin or not. I work with Atlantic salmon in Maine and have worked at salmon hatcheries for over 25 years and have fin clipped thousands of fish during this time.
