We fished Mexico Bay (catfish creek to plant) this weekend. Friday from 5 am - 3 pm, started in shallow for browns and later in the morning moved out in front of plant out to 120 FOW never moved a rod. Saturday from 5 am - 3 pm, same area except we didn't fish shallow before moving out to plant, we went 2-2 both kings, one 12 lbs. Both on spoons down 60 over 100-120 FOW.

I think you could still launch at Salmon Country Marina, just up the river. I was there over the weekend and it was clear and had boats at their docks.

Looks like a nice Atlantic salmon...way to go!

keel sinkers with bead chain swivels and snaps, keeps your rigs straight and tangle free. I also run bead chain swivels in front of my flouro leader, these work great to eliminate line twist.

Good to meet you and your Dad at the campground....thanks for the info during the week. We fished through August 30 and managed to keep the skunk off the boat except for the last morning, we caught 2-3 fish per day, our largest was 26 lbs. We caught most of the fish on FF combo, but a few on meat and spoons. Fished out in front of south dunes, north dunes and the plant, did best at 120 ft down 110 on the riggers and 300 ft out on dipsey. Green mountain dew and chrome Flasher with green fly seemed to produce best for me!

I see your out of Mexico Bay, where you at? I am interested in these and could either pick them up when I'm in town on August 18-21 or you can ship...I have a trailer at Salmon Country.

I fished on Friday with no luck, we stayed east of the plant and fished mostly around Catfish, marked some good bait and hooks in 75 ft of water, but no takers. We went back to the same area on Saturday and caught a few nice browns, one was 10 lbs and a bunch of small kings. Overall, pretty tough couple days of fishing.

Definitely a brookie...probably some brood stock they have at the hatchery for egg production...looks pretty big!

I saw this boat on the trailer.  Love the look of it,  really great looking rig.  Definitely on the short list of my next boat.

I see you are in the Mexico area...any chance you stay at Salmon Country campground? That is where I keep the boat and my trailer. I am always looking for someone to share fishing information with and enjoy having a few beers at camp afterwards, swing by if you are in the area and see my rig.

This is my rig..1998 22' CHawk that gets a lot of time on Lake Ontario and some on Stellwagon Bank fishing for Cod. this picture was actually taken in Gloucester and we are holding up some cod we caught. I have a home-made cleaning station that swings up over the motor and works great for filleting fish or cutting up bait for chunking.

I got mine in the mail and can't wait to try these out...thanks a lot!
