  1. Went straight N out of I-Bay to the 150-250 range in the AM. Marked some in the shallower areas but no action. Continued out to 300 and landed one smaller 12 lb king 72' down on a FF. That was at noon! Came in after warding off the skunk.
  2. Those are hilarious! Where can I get a pair for my brother? Glad you guys hooked some nice fish, and thanks for the report.
  3. The steelhead weren't the only thing I caught this morning, I also picked up a nice landing net floating north of Braddock's in about 170 fow around 11AM. If you think it's yours, message me with the brand and description and you can pick it up. I'm in Webster. Sent from my SM-T580 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Fished the 100 to 250 area just north of Braddock's this AM. Very slow start but from 10 to 11 hit on 4 steelhead, 4 to 6 lbs, all in the 150 to 170 range. 3 on a dipsey about 40' down, the other on a DR 52' down. No action on the deeper DR. Spoons were bright green and a silver/purple stinger which is now either the property of the steelie who hit it, or on the bottom of the lake. He hit the dipsey hard and then the action was gone. Reeled it in to see the line was severed by teeth. Was out near the 21N and 39W line. Thanks to Eric, the Fly-N-Fish captain, for the tip on location. 5. Trolled for 3 hours in the 220 to 440 fow range north of Webster Park and Hedges last night, 5:30 to 8:30. Not a single mark on the screen. Are things better out toward Braddock's? Sent from my SM-T580 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Took a quick trip out to the 250 to 420 range north of Hedges Wednesday night from 6:00 to 7:30. Saw the same dead bait on the surface many others have noted. Screen was very blank, but I trolled at 45 to 70' down based on temp. Hooked a nice king at 48 over 410 on a FF and lost him about 30' from the boat. It was much colder than I expected on the water and I horsed him in too fast. My own fault. Not much to see that night but hopefully the warmer temps coming will turn things around. 7. Definitely marked more fish than last week. Landed a small steelhead about 4 lbs, 70' over 170', north of Webster park on a bloody death magnum. He jumped about 10 times. Beautiful morning, about 3 others out in the area.
  8. Love it when the lake lays down like that at sunset. Good call on the kolsch.
  9. I know exactly how you feel. I say the same thing, and then I wonder what if today is the day?
  10. My buddy fishes Erie every Friday morning. This is what I see about 9AM on those days.
  11. I was east of IBay this morning and blank was a good description of what I got. Marked many lakers in 90-120 but was not fishing for them. About a dozen boats in the 50ish depth but I didn't notice a lot of action. The DEC Angler Survey boat was parked in the channel by Mayer's and they said most boats reported zilch.
  12. These T style aluminum plates slide in the open bottom area of the older style Cannon Mag 10 downriggers such that the large knob that secures the DR to the mounting base can't be unscrewed. They are 1/4 inch aluminum plate and the Master locks are keyed alike. I'm no machinist and cut them by hand with a hacksaw but they worked fine for me for 6 years. Some piece of mind for leaving your DRs on the boat. $25 for the pair. Sent from my SM-T580 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. We take a cruise up the Genny every fall. At certain points in the river it's almost like you're not in the city. Sent from my SM-T580 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. And as Brian said the Irondequoit public launch is closed. You can launch at Mayer's marina. Sent from my SM-T580 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. I'd take them in the bay for bass and maybe a wallie. I've fished out of IBay the last 2 weeks and although I've marked fish I saw no action. Sent from my SM-T580 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. I buzzed out N of Hedges this PM and trolled the 370 to 430 depth. Temp was down at 70' so set the riggers at 60'-65' and varied a bit around there. Marked a fair amount of fish and had some chasing the lures but no solid hits. Had one release but it was just after getting the line down and I think it was my error.
