Leader preferences when trolling spoons?
suttontroller94 replied to Seneca Slammer's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
12lb works great I don't even remember why I went up to 12 from 10 to be honest. I don't reallreally want to say this without a piece of wood around to knock on but I have yet to break off with quality 12 like Seagar. I even keep my drag set stiffer than most and bring alot of fish to the boat green and haven't had problems. Just keep steady pressure, inspect for nicks and knots often and you'll have no problem. I use the red label seagar but have heard the blue is even better just twice as much $$. DON'T USE BERKLEY VANISH... VANISH LINE=VANISHED LURE -
Thanks it was in the final hour of our flta tourney this weekend was getting down to wire so we broke out the desperate measures and it paid off! Currently holding big landlock for the year after beating John's (nautitroller) beautiful fish out by a small margin of 4 oz. Only 3 lakes left to go with only 1 of those containing landlocks. Hopefully that fish will earn us a plaque!

I use about 15ft of 12lb seagar for riggers and spoon dipsys. 15lb for copper and lead and 20lb for flasher fly dipsys -

People just have no sense of courtesy or intelligence during boating season.... This guy had a note on his windshield when he got back... Even the weed checker at the ramp said the guy knew he did it. She saw him park look at it several times then lock his doors and walk away. Next time he'll be missing a mirror.

For sure Joe. It's going to be very soon

Boat ramp manners I just want to throw this out there because it's really been irritating lately. It seems as fisherman we have forgot how to make it easy on one another to load and unload boats efficiently. The pic below is of what I came back to today at the ramp. What you can't see is the single vehicle parked on the other side of me in a way that made it impossible for me to cut my wheel enough to get around this joker... Also the guy in the single car happens to be standing at the jeep behind me (preventing me from attempting to back straight out even though I would've kissed mirrors with this truck anyway) and stood there talking for 15minutes while I clearly was trying to get out of this spot. Just please try to show respect and park in designated areas and get in the spot. Your tire or mirror hanging over isnt ok and after your boat is out get out of the way for the next guy....

I just spoke with one of the workers today about this she said they did alot of lake trout from all age classes and alot allot of them were stuffed with sawbellies. So basically goes with the theory that the fish are there we just suck at competing against the bait

It was bad today even out to 200ft of water

Sorry I can't answer those questions if I had to take my best guess I would say would have to be by the night before and I'm sure you could mail it however they are both fairly willing to meet people within a reasonable distance to sign up. Their numbers are located at bottom of page. Dylan lives near horseheads overheads and Corey is up around ovid. -

This is a box event so it's not a "board" system best combination of a 1 mans Cayuga lake daily limit Yes you may launch anywhere deans cove will probably be busy but there are various launches on the lake. Makes it that much more of a challenge. Do you fish out of deans with the crowd or do you find fish elsewhere and drive a hair farther to weigh In. I'm In the Finger lakes Trollers association the weigh in is in Ovid aswell however guys launch at various launches -
