It looked like a beautiful day and the wife wanted to go for a boat ride. Partner and his wife went along. Went out about noon . The surface temperature was 60. Down 50 the temperature was 60. Last week the surface temperature was 46. Caught one brown. Didn't mark a lot of fish or bait. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment but I keep hoping that the fishing will get better.

I fished out of Sodus last week. Was hoping to get some brown s or steelhead but the water temperature was 46 at the surface and I caught nothing. Didn't want to go 8 miles out in the lake looking for warm water. Hoping that the water along the shore is warmer on Sunday.

Fished today from 8-3. Very cold water along the shore. Surface was 48-50 and down 10 it was 45. Went out to 60fow to get good temperature. Caught a nice coho and that was it. Marked some fish but no takers. Didn't see any big bait pods. Fished in to 30fow and out to 80fow. Stock more cohoes- it was delicious.

If you want spawners stay in 40-70 fow and forget about the temperature. Or go out to cold water and look for bait.ff and jplugs for spawners and spoons deep. Green frog worked good early on browns and kings. Good luck and let us know how you do.

When I was at CCFL back in the 70-120 I did a lot of fin clipping at Caledonia and I remember going to that hatchery in wheatland.I think it's been abandoned for a long time.

Its has been interesting reading posts about the state of the lake and the quality of the fishing. I fished today from 7-3 and caught 4 different kinds of fish. 2 kings, 2steelhead, 2 Atlantics and a brown. I grew up in Rochester and had relatives who had cottages on the lake. Its incredible that the lake has cleaned up enough for these fish to survive in it. The lake is a very complicated ecosystem and when you add in all the government agencies, invasive species and the fishing communitie and the economic benefits- it gets more complicated. I'm new to this group and fishing on the lake and I ve found the members to be very helpful and knowledgeable about what is going on in the lake. Sorry for the long rant but I just wanted to say that I'm happy that I can fish on such a great lake.

I have a '89 pro hunter. Great boat. But it don't have a trailer. Any chance you would want to sell the trailer? Does anyone know where there might be a trailer for sale?
