I was thinking more how people can be asses at the dock when trying to get out. Just wondering how you tournament guys deal with it and the bass guys trying to all get off the lake at the same time. I finally got caught up with work and want to get some fishing it but haven't been out due to these afternoon storms. Weekends are already tough getting out of the water. Near impossible when a storm rolls in. Is there some kind of lighting protection I can install encase of not being able to get off the water? 16' thompson. I do everything legal. I have been harrassed by coast guard in the 1000 islands before. What I am getting at is don't be an idiot and they won't have a reason to come after you. I've told several young officers off before and came out without tickets. Just because they have a badge doesn't mean their always right. Unwarranted inspection is harassment. [emoji106] If your trolling a long and your not doing any thing illegal that would warrant probable cause then they should leave you a lone. They can't legally just come up to your boat and demand to inspect your boat. I remember as a kid they tried to do unwarranted inspections... Got told where to go... Seems every time I get into the Pickerel they always tear my fingers up... Probably when I pull them out the hole my fingers are getting it on a tooth or gills. Is there a good set of water proof gloves? Better way to get them out the hole without them bite my line off... I slide my hand down the line and grab the lure usually unless they swallow it... I meant the DEC came up with a viable trap design and just used stock fish to catch the eels. They usually drop right off the fish when you pull them. Seems like winter would be the best time since the fish wouldn't have to be so deep and wouldn't get shocked as much pulling them up from deep. Make it so when they fall off the fish the funnel to the bottom of the trap and into a bin for extermination. Even in the summer I would say it's worth a few lost stock fish to a good cause then letting them go crazy for next 10 years... Or more.
