  5. Looking for kicker motor for 18' aluminium StarCraft. Not sure what size would be good. Seeing what's out there. Located North of Ithaca Ny Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Trying to make it just a manual tilt. Trying to make it so I can just put a pin threw and lock it down... Why don't the holes line up? Or are they for something else. Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. So... The marina said they don't make them anymore... Only two people they know of has them... Any way to setup with different pump... Going to be really p/o if I just bought a boat that I can get parts for... Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Solenoid is good. Found my test light. Pump is bad. So do I need to pull the whole thing or is there away to just replace the pump? Pm me details for those other pumps, price/location. Thanks Mike Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Awesome. Thanks. Started to rain last night so I covered everything up. This morning I took the res cap off and used a jack to get it up high enough. I hope its just a solenoid but I know my luck... I'll let you know how I make out Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. So I hooked a wire from the right to the left post with the boot, pump did nothing, touched it to where up button come in, click, down no click, red green and blue come in from the helm. Up trailer, down trail or, and trim... I've never owned anything larger then a bass boat or I/o... Seems pretty straight toward... New pump looks pretty pricey Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. So true. Thanks. I basically just trying to test the pump before I start pulling it apart. I'll make sure I mark everything and take pictures to refer back too Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Looks like maybe if i put juice threw these two screws it may bypass the noid ... Trying to find my light tester... Going to do full resto this fall. Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Where should I attach cables... Sorry I'm no mechanic. I get what your saying tho... Have to start my mower that way. Actually I was trying it before I posted here but think I got the positive in the wrong spot. Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Trying the get this StarCraft in the water. Everything runs good for execpt it won't trim up or down. I can get it to go down by unhooking the chain but up is impossible without a jack. When I push up it clicks, down Nada. From what I read its pretty easy fix. I found two corroded wires that go from the pump to the Gimbal housing? Not sure what its actually called... I'd like to replace the entire wire.. And way of doing it with out digging into there [emoji12] Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. I'm currently starting the removal of the center beam and flattening around this rib to fix the hole and have a flat area to work with. I was going to do 8 layers on the inside for the hole and two layers on the exterior hull. Then 3 layers down the length to transom for pin holes. Maybe one layer the length of the outside. Got enough tp rolls after a week of saving. Now that I don't have people. Buying bundles I don't mind getting cutting fiber glass again. I'm going to have to come up and kill that tree for all the info your giving me. Keeps this boat project alive. Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. The problem is couple little pin holes on the inside. The guy i paid over the summer just did a patch over them and a crack that I enlarged into a hole to fix. Picture of it in earlier post. Let me see if I can get a pic of my dilemma Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. What tool do you guys suggest for hitting this curve... By hand is working the best... But its slow and killing the arms.
  18. So I spent part of the weekend cutting out and sealing the transom in resin. I'm getting ready to put the two piece together with mat later today and maybe glue it to the boat. How do you get the bottom part of the board to sit flush against the fiber glass? Natural curve in the ply wood make the bottom cup some Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Looks like this thing was just thrown together by someone who don't care. I stood on it with one foot and hopped around before I read the article. Seems just as tough as the left side that's undamaged. I switched over to the transom for now because of the heat and not wanting to wear my suite yet. Looks like I'll need a bunch more resin if I do the center beam. This course Matt looks like it can absorb a lot. Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. I was reading some stuff last night on about matting between transom planks... Some where I read that I should of used one layer woven, one layer random mat, then more woven in that order for my holes??? I used masking tape on the outside and 6 layers of woven fiber. There was no air bubbles when finished. The other thing I'm pondering now is that when I do the floor ribs, they had the non woven fiber wrapped around the wood with thicker woven mat. I'll up load a video of what I'm talking about. I wonder if they just used it as backing for the woven or as a bonding layer... Every time I read I get mixed info and it sounds like I'm working I circles... Here is a pic of my first hole fixed Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. LoL. Sounds to good to be true. I like the tp backing idea. I was trying to come up with an idea besides masking tape. I assume you wet the tube all the way like the fiber, let it cure then over lay it? I bet they never used backing and that's why there was holes and it rotted again. What mask should I use for grinding and sanding. I been using the cotton one but it seems to let the dust in still. Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Top and side image of beam.. I'd hate to cut this out but I already bought courser mat to do it. Guess its harder to wet out. Sounds like the stabilizer only hardens what it can seep into. I think I'll go the long route if it makes it last longer. Should I seal the new beam with resin like the transoms? Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I stuck a knife it it. The core of the wood is solid maybe couple cm of wood is rotted but I think I'll just cut it out. It hasn't cracked yet but why do all the work I guess just to do it twice... >.< Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. How do you guys feel about wood stabilizers? The center beam is solid issue... I'd like to avoid cutting it out but if the stabilizer is not as good as a new board then I will cut it out. Thanks for input. This might save me a bunch of time or put me back another week. Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Teams sound good but someone said something about helping non boaters that want to get in. I'd be interested in something like that. Bought a boat last year, learned the basics, then found out I got stiffed on the boat... And stuck back on shore. I was rushing to finish my boat but ended up slicing a finger open... Kinda heart breaking if its the last year... Sounds like it will continue. Hope so. Sent from my XT1528 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
