  1. Yep. Bring hand sanitizer. Splash it on everything
  2. Did alright on Cayuga, chicken liver is the ticket.
  3. Caught one today about 8am. Also caught a stupid seagull chasing my lure as it dropped in the water. Line landed on his wing... Best mannered bird I've ran into. Didn't peck at me and he was easily released. Salmon was 17.5 so he went back.
  4. Chicken Liver and just a hook if I no current. Some biggest catfish and bullhead I've caught was on lived. Big piece to get out and give the minnows to chew on. The bait love it as much as bulk beads and cats.
  5. Maybe I can get the stringers and floor in or at least part of it to help keep the shape?
  6. I meant temp as in cold. Good to know about the heat too. Worried the epoxy won't setup right if it a cold
  7. LoL. Great. Is it heat sensitive like the resin? This is probably a dumb question but you use the epoxy to coat the boards for the transom then fiber glass over top correct?
  8. I plan on using Marine plywood for stringers and floors. I looked into the West epoxy system, some of the videos say just coat it good and it will be as strong as marine plywood? I agree with you on the plywood and strength. I remove trees for a living so knowing wood strength and grain patterns determine cuts I make. I think I'll stick with the original plan and get the marine grade plywood instead of cheaping out. They say it never rots. Rain today... looks like I won't be getting much done.
  9. I was going to use epoxy to hold the stringers in place then wrap it with the fiber glass like the original design. I guess I can skip the epoxy and use the resin to hold them in place. I was thinking repainting the outer hull a different color to make it all uniform. I dint think I need epoxy. Maybe I will. Still working on the learning curve lol
  10. Yep. Thanks. I'm doing mine outside so when I start putting stringers in I'll make sure to block the Uv's out.
  11. Sounds good. Cutting from the inside might work. I appreciate all the help and after I get cleaned up a bit and extra set of hands sounds great. When I paint it, I should do primer, paint, then gel coat correct?
  12. The epoxy you have to pain right away correct? Uv's degrade it right away?
  13. Anywhere cheaper then $100 a sheet?
  14. I figured it would separate some how but I see how it comes out now. Its also pinched from gravity... First I gotta cut two fiber glass loops holding the steering cable up and throttle cables up. From there I can slide it back with some help... from there I gotta separate the hull to get to the transom and pull the rotted material out... then try to piece it back. Think someone said use a electric chain saw. I suppose that's quicker and I'm doing lots glass work anyway... Buddy finally showed up to change my tire.. to bad it was worse then before... bit it holds air... Tire shop tomorrow....
  15. How do I get this apart... holds the motor in place. The rest of the cable is jamming me up plus when I pulled the shaft threw the motor goes cocky eye and pinches the shaft. I need to go get bigger wrenches. .. tearing the nut up.
  16. Was kinda thinking I could leave it running while I did the little holes on bottom. Suns almost up, I'll grab some pics. Almost think the big hole I should lay piece of fiber on the inside, coat it, Let it dry then fill in the from the outside with the paste idea, sand it down and then stick a thin sheet over the outside. Good idea or over kill? I'm working outside, no garage yet.
  17. I got a salamander I was going to use to heat the section up good, have the liquids warmed up in the house un-mixed, then when the hull was nice and toasty, pull the plug, and start mixing and pouring. All the cracks are from rotted stringers. Looks like I might go one step further and cut the main beam out too... I doubt they did a water proof job so the main beam is probably just as bad.
  18. So back at it since this morning I woke up with a flat tire... Finished cleaning the interior waste out. Bunch rotted crap. Ground out so more of the edges and started to use thinner to clean the holes for masking. Tommorow is suppose to warm up by noon.I plan on warming the hull up and letting some resin run threw the cracks from the top. If it cures correctly I plan on using the paste method to form the outside and sand. I'll add more pictures tomorrow. After that it's going to be few days of sanding and grinding.
  19. Pretty fish. Nice catch
  20. No just a new technique I wanted to try not sure if it works
  21. My plan was to use gulp smelt with a jig head... but forgot my back pack lol
  22. Between 10 and 12:30. Fish started jumping around 12, right after everyone else left lol. I was casting spoons and drop shot with worms. I forgot my back pack with lures in it so I was stuck with what I had with me. I bet something imitating stone flies probably would do well. Tons of them down there
  23. I saw couple jumping, chasing bait and flies for about 10mins. Then nothing. Maybe the trolling boat approaching stopped the action but it was neat to watch them chase bait just under the surface, even jump a couple times. Water had to be only waist deep and clear
  24. Its to easy to argue that environmental factors contribute more damage then over fishing, which I believe is the true issue. Deny Deny Deny just like global warming...
  25. Can't say I ever heard that.
