  1. i bought the unit in 2018, thanks for the help. A card at half price won't matter, none of their software will work with the unit, they no longer support the Lowrance Hook 7. They have zero, no software that could possibly work. No cards, nothing. Bottom line is I have a $700 door stop Last Lowrance product I will ever buy.
  2. After speaking with Navionics again, the only card that would help would be msd/sd US east Thanks for your offers but they wont work according to Navionics
  3. cant go on the website, navionics said they no longer have software to support the older cards, my unit was bought in 2018. I will check to see if either of those cards would work.
  4. Found out my Lowrance Hook 7 Triple shot came with a Navionics card that has no overlays in it. Navionics doesn't support the older cards so I have a $700 door stop. Unless someone has an older card, I would need a Navionics Card MSD/SD US East , hope to hear from someone with better news than Lowrance or Navionics had.
  5. Have an Lowrance Hook7tripleshot. Used it about 10 times then had some issues with it. Spoke to Lowrance tech people 2 yrs ago when it was acting up. They had me take the Navi card out and upload new firmware and some other downloads. Well the boat needed repairs so it took time to repair, New Floor and complete rewire of the whole boat. Got it done for this weekend, Sonar seem to be working but Chart plotter only shows blue water, no waypoints no structure , nothing but blue water. Spent 2 hrs on hold at the dock because they needed it in the water to try somethings. after an hour withthe tech person they guess the last guy had me wipe the maps out. was told i need to call Navionics cause its there mapping. Well tomorow morning I'll call first thing see what kind of song and dance I'll get. not bad spent $650 on a unit that last 10 times and now it's gonna be a door stop. Lowrance said they couldnt do much because it's an old model they dont support anymore, great customer service. Even the couple times it was used, it didnt impress me at all. Over the past 45 years I've had a wide variety of electronics starting with flashers, then paper graphs and LED units and i can say this unit is not user friendly . Should of got a Garmin. Which i will probably do, no faith in this unit or any of thier other products.
  6. Pipe benders electrician's use are made for pipe, tubing is different size's than pipe. Tubing is measured by outside diameter and pipe is measured by inside diameter, or visa versa
  7. Happy youngsters, doesn't get any better than that, kudos
  8. Finished laying down 2 layers of Bi-axle fiberglass matting and 3 gallons of resin. Just completely rewired the whole boat. Only thing left is painting the topside and gel coating the floor. This is a project I know I will never do again.
  9. woods all down already, monday i'll start glassing the floor with fiberglass mat and resin.
  10. Got all the plywood down, Hardest part was both consoles lining up so the windshield closes right. Needed a new teleflex cable for steering but they dont make it anymore so a whole new Sea Star steering system went in. This week hopefully I can glass the entire deck, Then rewire everything. Should of just got a new to me boat.
  11. if that motor has reed valves I would change them while your at it. Reed valves are an easy job. Then you should be good to go.
  12. I found a very flexible bilge hose on amazon that would work great, thanks for the reply's
  13. i was thinking about that possibility , just was hoping to find a very flexible hose.
  14. Hello all, in the slow process of putting down a new floor in my 18ft smokercraft, My problem is while i'm at it i am replacing any thing that was under the floor. the live well's overflow hoses are about 10 inches long going out each side , they have an 1 1/2 in inside diameter but they have a 3 inch offset, i need some flex hose that is soft enough to get the offset needed, guess it would of made too much sense to line the overflows straight when they built it. I found what the local marine shop calls flex hose but you need a gorrilla to bend it, and i need to offset it 3-4 inches in a 10 inch run. any help would be welcomed. Thanks Bud
  15. Decided to go with Marine plywood, place downstate in Dutchess county, Condon Lumber has any piece of wood known to man. $119 a sheet. By far the strongest plywood i have ever seen. Will keep updated on progress.
  16. When I mention stringers, I mean the raised ribs the floor was screwed down to. I wasn't planning on using marine grade plywood, just a good acx with maybe 5ply. I understand now about the epoxy floor idea, it would adhere to thr paint and not the floor itself. Guess I will go with a vinyl floor covering. I appreciate all the ideas, always good to ask, saves time on doing it twice.
  17. Transom is solid, the floor rotted out from previous owner . Boat had a 2 stroke with an oil tank in the rear, either a leaky tank or just a lot of spillage trying to fill it the floor was oil rotted, once that started water compounded the problem. Instead of doing a piece meal job I removed the entire floor. Stringers all look good , i would replace all the styrefoam weather it has life left in it or not. Original floor had carpet, I was thinking about an Epoxy floor instead of a covering. Guessing the ACX plywood should be covered with an oil based paint or clear polyurethene.
  18. Hello fellow fishermen, I have an 18ft smokercraft with a soft floor, Hull is all aluminum , floor was plywood. I want to replace the whole floor, question is, is 1/2 in marine grade plywood suitable or does anyone have a better suggestion.
  19. What in the world were they thinking when they designed the new pier at Ollcot. Guess they don't want people fishing anymore. Some real genius designed this one. good ole DEC , I'm sure with no access the whole area is going to suffer, that was a very popular access point for shore anglers.
  20. I never found the short shallow in wonderbread but i'll bet they would of been exceptional.
  21. It is extra hard to believe because they are a very great bait trolling for browns. The long shallow in Wonderbread has been my main brown trout lure for 3 yrs. And i've searched high and low and can't find anymore anywhere.
  22. Anyone know what happened to BayRat, did they close up , their website is vague about their future. I need long shallow Wonder Breads
  23. The little man is a real trooper. Congrats to the both of you. Memories to last a lifetime
  24. those Heathkit flashers were the best, I built about 8 of them for all my buddies i fished with. Yes there were 100's of parts, took about 50 hrs per unit to put together.
