Took a couple of our favorite clients out for a quick evening trip. Dropped gear in 75fow on a north troll. At 180 it was all smiles with a triple, a double and then a swing and a miss on the deep rigger. 5-6 with two steelies in the mix. All lived to fight again, with the exception of a kamikaze king that took our nbk fly deep in the gills.
I think at this point it’s safe to say that the water won’t recede in a week and a half for the launches in I-bay or the river to be usable. Shumways has a single lane launch, and the weigh in isn’t being held there. Last I checked, Greece was well within the monroe county line and has a usable launch as of today. Given the fact that we’ve come off of an epic spring king bite for the past two years, I think you’d be silly to not utilize the port of Braddocks Bay for this tournament. You could potentially lose a ton of participation by overlooking this port, as has been done for the last two years.
Sure. I’m not sure how to help but if you need me to do something, let me know. I’ve already purchased a season pass for Braddocks in anticipation of this. Let me tell you that I’d much rather launch at sandy than most other ports. It almost seems that I’m a second class citizen for using the boat launch anywhere else.
