Been trying to find out about LEGALLY towing my 26 PY up to your pond a few times this summer and fall, I'm about screen blind from reading all the crap from the NY dept of trans, my question is, has anyone here from the forum ever gone thru all the steps and done it right, and if so maybe you can point me in the right direction or to someone who handles this kind of thing. Ive never had a problem in years past with no permit, but Id like to be legal if its not too big a pain in the ass
Boat is going in next week will post pics then, ill check and see if there are any more on my computer
Also replaced fuel pump this spring with a new unit that is compatible with Ethanol as are all the fuel lines and carb, replaced wiper motor and installed pantograph wiper arm as well as the sending units in both tanks, replaced all trans and engine oil cooler hoses and rear main seal and installed a new damper plate. pulled motor and trans as I had a miniscule oil leak last fall, I had the rear main seal on hand, so it got replaced while motor was out, although that wasn't the source of the leak, found the metal plug that seals the cam bore had a small drip, replaced it too, I'm anal and probably have OCD too,But I hate half assed things this boat has had Impeccable maintainence,
you should be able to spin the tool with equal resistance all the way around no tight spots, if you cant do this if the alignment is off, also make sure your all the way in the coupler, coat the tool with grease to see haw far your into the coupler, should go all the way to the shoulder, also make sure your not binding on the shift connection
you should use an alignment bar and set alignment before ever trying to reinstall outdrive, I have one you can use if you pay for shpping, hell you can have it as all my boats are now straight IB

Boat is straight IB, not tunnel drive
my 26 with a 454 does about 27mph @ 3400 with a 17x 18 , tops out around 32 mph @ 4000, Im a bit overpropped probably a 17x17 is what would be best for my boat
