Nothing going on the roost again for me, so I took a ride around my spots and saw 9 Jakes and a long beard, 3 hens. My buddy told me to go stalk them down so I did..as he text me where they were. A 2 mile stalk thru bush and 87 temp it was a hot one. As I got close to the edge of the field I crawled the rest of the way because the turkeys were 40 yards out. When I was 5 yards away from the field edge a hen heard me in the brush and putted , but came in to see what I was . So I took my fan out of my vest ,fanned it out . She saw it and yelped a couple times and calmed down . I was 45 from the long beard. He just sat there and looked at me but 45 is good for me .I took the shot and folded him . Thanks !!! I called it big foot. Never seen a foot that big. He had spur gashes on his legs all over and infections old and new. I think his legs had been frozen in the winters they were yellow/whiter/gray. Kinda weird looking Sent from my SM-N900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Saturday am I got out to the woods for the roost hunt. Not a pep.. 6 am hit the call. Bird hammers 120 yards away I sit down , he gobbles again I stop calling . he gobbles . Next thing I'm wondering is where is he .... ha coyote wtf. Game over . I then go to another spot at 1030. I'm in the back of the woods, hit the slate . Turkey hammers back towards the truck but out in the field. he needs to get to the woods eventually and I'm in between. I creep through the woods to the field Edge. I look out into the field and see a Strutter also with a Jake. I hit the call again he gobbles and struts making his way very slow towards me. I stop calling to keep him looking. He makes his way to 45 yards but can't get a clear shot through the little bit of brush. He strutted back to where he was... Now I know I'll never call him back. So I'll have to see if he's the boss, I pulled out my turkey fan crawled out into the field 5 yards he sees the fan goes out of strut gobbling running as fast as he can 2 me he stops at 5 yards goes into full strut and goggles I dropped the fan and shoot him at 6 yards. It was the most unbelievable Adrenaline Rush ever. The beard was 9 inches most of it was broke off from the harsh Winters. It had 1 1/4 spurs, and weighed 24 pounds. Bondouley and I took a ride out to a farm in byron but we took some good friends along with us,.. the 17 hmr hvy barrel and 223 savage hvy barrel . 3 for 4 . 2 big females and 1 boar. My yellow gets cold tail if she puts up alot of retrieves in a hunt . Over worked day after day. She then hates me for a week but still wants to go . If your dog gets it ,It's ok give it time . Looks painful tho Sent from my SM-N920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Nice dogs !! I freeze shot up ducks and use them for training. Works the best. Woodieboater if anyone u know has a lab take your dog out swimming with it. my two labs got my dad's Bluetick and Redbone to go swimming and they hate water. Sent from my SM-N920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
