My last 3 boats were all straight inboards with closed cooling. Still running the 1987 and 1995 with absolutely zero issues bc of salt water. As noted th only thing you may want to change are the risers, depending on when they were changed last. Most closed systems run coolant through the exhaust manifolds. Outboard's if properly maintained ,flushed and stored or raised out of the water generally are trouble free bc of salt as well. Sometimes if the hardware is breaking down you may see some rust stains running from some chrome parts, never had that on any of my 3 but have noticed it on some salt hulls. Never any wiring issues or corrosion on connections .I would buy my next boat from salt again in a heartbeat if the price was right ,all based on passing a survey.

Have you tried Googling your issue with maybe engine/generator make info. That's all I got , good luck !

Penn yan prowler water hook up for sinks
Bozeman Bob replied to SALMONBOY35's topic in This Old Boat
They work off a pressure pump like a RV. Yes you should have switch to turn the pump on. Either by the electric panel or on your dash. When you turn it on you may want to turn the faucets on and off to get the air out of the system . If there are any leaks in the system the pump will run when it senses the water pressure dropping. Other than that you leave the switch on for the day just like the raw water wash down pump ,except its drawing from your tank. -
No , you need two separate transducers. You should be able to display one FF screen on the other but only one FF is in operating mode. They do make a splitter allowing you to cut your wires and match them up. The wirescare color coded ,similar to a radio. I ended up going on thehulltruth.com. and posting up got the color match up reply in a few hours. Ebay , wakezonemarine was the seller , 28.00 total , ..... Airmar inline Cable Splicer kit IP 67 10 conductor waterproof.....was how it was titled.

I am going to put a vending machine on my rig , making sure it's stocked with breakfast sandwiches, coffee, beer , bait and now that pot is legal I am going to have a " special " row of high end stuff so I can maximize my profit while trolling for Kings , which is apparently the secondary reason for going out on Lake Ontario.
-
Ya got that right. once the cruise ship Norwegian Wood ties off in Olcott and the buffet line opens up count me in for some breakfast on the Princess Line flagship. I know the charter captains have nothing else to do but worry about breakfast and that's what the clients are really there for., screw the Kings ,I need me some breakfast !!!
-
What in the world are you talking about ? This guy is obviously coming in from out of town with a boat ,not doing a charter. To suggest that the charter boat people could or should prepare breakfast is ludicrous. How many head boats are there in Olcott or on Lake Ontario . I guess the legalization of marijuana has kicked in ,Haha

Well deadlake , in this day and age if you have zero access to a cell as in no friends, no co-workers and no relatives but yet you have a computer and internet to be able to respond it leaves me speechless. I am so sorry that you are without a phone. Smart remark ? noting that he had 2 numbers listed and maybe you should call him ? That smart remark ? -

2021 Great Lakes Salmon Showdown
Bozeman Bob replied to Finders Keepers's topic in Tournament Talk, Shows, Events & Seminars
While I understand the C + Release aspect in some species and started doing this successfully with Muskys back in the 80s I also understand the weight aspect along with stocking programs . If bass can be weighed ,not measured and released to win a tourney why can't any other fish do the same thing ? About the only species I can think of on the Great Lakes that measurement takes the win is Muskys and Northerns. I take exception to your " kill events " . Every Captain I have seen in these "kill events " makes sure the meat harvested is not thrown out. Last Atomic Tourney I did in Oswego NY , Tom Allen ,the promoter had a local Veterans group collecting Salmon that Teams would give to them . You also have a well stocked and natural reproduction class of game fish on the GL that are there for a reason $$$ . Collected by bordering states and they will adjust the stocking programs accordingly. I still may sign up just throwing mine and probably a few other people's thoughts out there on length vs weight and length ( if need be for tie breakers along with 1st one in the boat ). Thanks for your reply. -

" They " is we the people ,that pay taxes and in this case, the electric bill. Just another scam by the state to take your money. Just like the Thruway and Peace Bridge doing away with tolls after the construction bonds were paid off. Never going to happen. Delaying spring is messing with Mother Nature , buds ,schmuds.
-
Who told you this ? Or is it something that you came up with on your own ? Before the boom when the ice chunks came down the river they would on occasion scrap the bottom and self dredge the river as well as taking out weeds and what not. Yes some docks would take a hit ,but that's on the owner's for putting them in harm's way. Do away with the boom.and let mother nature dictate it's own course. You know the big money power authority would not let this happen. Somewhat surprised the environmentalist have not put up a law suit against them. It messes with our ( farmers ) springs for starters. Really doesn't help the upper river's ecosystem and yes, those that live close to the now colder lake burn more fuel heating our homes , which contributes to your global warming with all that carbon monoxide being pumped into the ozone.
-
So how's this " global warming " BS looking now ? Weather report yesterday was for at least 75% ice coverage by this weekend. I do not see any above freezing temps forecast for the next 10 days. I am glad climate has changed over the centuries, otherwise we would still be in the ice age ,,,,and I wouldn't be alive. Updated as of 2/11 cover is now 80 % and should be 100% in a few days.

Ok , I'll bite , no one else has replied. Not sure why the Cannon's won't auto stop if the trolling motor battery is grounded to your main motor. If not grounded I would do that and they should work. A Dual.Purpose group 27 battery is what I would replace your existing battery with. Might get some arguments on this , I believe there are 4 or 5 Mfgs and they just slap different decals on them , NAPA , Delkab ,Walmart and so on. Most of the time I get about 3 years out of any brand and that's with a 3 bank charger on them as soon as I dock.

Raymarine C120 unit question
Bozeman Bob replied to allaboutfishing13's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Everything you have written suggests you either take it to a recycling place or throw it in trash can. The cost to have it fixed is more than it's worth. No brainer. -
Marshalls Machine.com or Michigan Motorz .com might be a good place to start. Have read a few negative reviews on Jasper engines.
-
In the future I would suggest going with Ugly Stick DR rods. A lot of Charter Captains use them , not saying there word is gold. I run them off the two boats I use and could not be happier. Great action ,unbreakable on the water , tips are touching the water when you load them up and with the light action a ball to catch any size fish out there.

Port side just about where your red line is on the stern . Long enough boom to get it about centered when you have the swivel base angled at 45* . Make sure the swivel base when locked ar 45* puts the end of the boom.over center. Might have to adjust the base so it's not exactly " squared to get the boom centered when locked in place .The gunwale rigger mount on the port side will be ahead of the hawes plate so you will have some room in the corner. Recently set up a boat with the same configuration, worked out great this past season.
