Went out for a few hours today in my little 14ft boat with no trolling motor. Stayed from like 8-12 before the wind picked up. Fished bass, which seem to be very active throughout the lake. Lost a real nice one after he took my frog that was floating while I was messing around with my reel. Hopefully I can sting him early next week. Seemed to be quite a few boats out trolling and bass fishing. Saw someone in a black boat get their lines ran over today near the cliffs. It was a hot one out there, and man is the water warm. Nice day to be out on the lake though. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

I will be giving them a good workout this weekend krux. I'll share my results later on. Planning on hitting otisco early tomorrow morning with a buddy if the weather holds up

Fished for a half hour today at the Erie Canal as I was passing through. Used the new setup, and man it's fun to use, not to mention much better than using steel leaders as I was used to. Tying the flouro to the spinnerbait was sooooo much nicer than leaders. No adjusting or tangles, just easier. I'm a big fan, so thanks for all that gave advice. And yes, I was using the terminator T1 that a few recommended. Very strong wire Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

I was getting walleye too up in Canada fishing weed lines for pike in between 8-15 FOW. Good ones too. Last year I got a 28, 26, and 21" on a spinnerbait to my surprise, all within 24 hours. definitely a fun surprise to pull them up Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Good info guys. Grabbed some seaguar 12# alongside blue label 20 for leaders (out of 30). Just tried out one of the Albright knots, and I got it to stick so I'll try that out. Also grabbed some terminators, and a couple strike king premier plus and tour grades to give a test run with Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

For those that mentioned the flouro leaders, what knots do you tie them on with? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

BSmaster, glad your enjoying this thread, as I am too. Lots of good information being shared. Krux, terminators are all over, bass pro has a good amount as does gander mountain. I'm heading up to gander mountain later and grabbing some more. I have the one, as I think I mentioned earlier in the thread, and loved the action, but was wary of the open R frame, as opposed to closed. However, now that everyone's saying flouro leaders are the way to go, I think I'll be just fine with the terminators. Excited to try this flouro approach to spinnerbaits Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Appreciate the tips guys. Unfortunately I'll be away for the final tournament on that list you sent me Justin, however I found one on Onondaga lake I might enter, if school allows. I think I've found some decent spots on that lake for largies Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Chowdaire, I'm definitely going to run at least one of my rods flouro. Justin, I should have specified in my original post, they are my go to for Canada, when I'm at my camp, which is frequently. For some reason the fish up there always fall for the spinnerbait. I heard about that tournament, wish I was around for it. Hopefully there will be one in the fall. Around here I'm mainly using flipping jigs, senkos and frogs. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

That's very interesting. Ya, I didn't plan on using it for the frog set up. I'll probably end up buying another curado to have for spinnerbaits so I don't have to retie. I have a couple revos but ever since I got the curado I can't put it down. Definitely going to take you up on flouro leaders though, won't get all bent up like steel leaders do after a couple days Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

I use the banshees occasionally krux. I've gotten a lot of fish on them, but after a couple boat flips they seem to get real bendy. Justin, I actually just tried a terminator this weekend for the first time. They have some of the smoothest running blades I have ever ran, even more so than the war Eagles. I'm a fan so far. I'm going up to gander mountain probably Wednesday to grab a couple things, including more of them. I'll give the flouro a try too, I run straight seaguar 15lb on one of my baitcasters, and will try your advice on leaders, as many people have told me that lately, so it must be worth the change. I got 60lb power pro on my froggin rod, which I often find myself using for spinnerbaits too, so I'll tie some flouro to it Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Sea-IV, I like the war eagles a lot actually. They are really smooth to fish. However, smaller pike tend to rip them apart. I'm thinking about ordering a few of the war eagle trokar's, which feature the closed loop. Also just found a smaller company that makes spinnerbaits called "bassdozer". They look great, and I'm also considering getting a couple of those too Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Like most, spinnerbaits are my go to. I'm a fan of closed loop wire spinnerbaits, as I often use leaders, and 1/2 oz baits. After my favorite spinnerbait manufacturer stopped making them, I've been on the hunt for the past couple years for the perfect spinnerbait. Wire durability is the main thing that I've noticed many big name companies lack in their spinnerbaits. Just curious, what's everybody's favorite? What brand do you use the most? Thanks guys! Got a 20" SMB as well, which I would estimate to have been a tad shy of five pounds Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Just got back from Canada, after a almost a week of bass fishing. Bass bite was hot, and even had a surprise walleye that decided to crush a spinnerbait in bright sunlight in 8FOW. In total, probably landed about 25 bass over 18", a walleye, and 5 pike. Here are just a few pictures from the trip. (Picture quality varies as I was often out by myself) The big one The walleye And some more bass Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Beautiful fish! Takes quite a bit of self restraint to not get a big fish's measurements in order to ensure its well being. Numbers are just numbers when the fish get that big. Seeing the fish swim away and knowing it'll be living is far superior than any measurement if you ask me. Congratulations to your son on getting an absolute hog, much respect for anglers like him. Oh I get what your saying now. When you get the new go pro just pop the sd card in from the other one and transfer it to your phone with the app. It's super slow to transfer video files to your phone from the go pro, especially the longer ones. Make sure you have a substantial amount of free space on your phone, or you'll have to wait for it to say it's done, then it'll say there's not enough spacd Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

I used the go pro app on my phone. If you have it saved on your phone just get the LOU app and post it from there Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

I posted a go pro video last week. What I do is use the LOU app on my iPhone alongside the GoPro app. What I did was connect my iPhone to my GoPro through the GoPro wifi, save the video or pictures from the GoPro to my phone, then use the LOU app to make my post and inserts pics/video. Hope this helps Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Thanks Justin, shoot me a text when you find out. I've always wanted to do Oneida, heard it's a blast to fish Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

This opens are a little to pricey for me to enter right now, but the bass nation ones I'd be interested in if there is any open spaces. Do you know where the two other events are and how to sign up? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Thanks guys. Justin, that'd be great if you could get me the info for bass nation. I likely won't be able to do SLR this weekend because of my wisdom teeth, but depending on when the one after that is, hopefully I'm free and can look into joining that one Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Thank you for the link. I didn't see anywhere there though on registering, is registration not available yet? Also what's the typical cost? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
