  1. Brady has been playing poorly as of late. Edelman is,banged up . Josh Allen playing better . Should be a good game . Pats are an above average team now . Would be 3 losses in a row if they loose .
  2. I have had experience with 2 aluminum boats that leaked 1 mine ,1 a friends . First priority was to find out where leaks was . We filled the boats with water in the driveway . Mine had 2 rivets ,I tightened then I put some sealer over them and it stopped it . My friends was leaking where the transom bottom.met the hull by the keel about a foot left and right . He wound up having someone weld it and it stopped .
  3. Shummer said there has been 1.5 million allotted for a study . I'll save them a lot of money . Here is my study. The lake is to high , lower it any way possible , now .
  4. Anglers pal . I have used them for years with dipsys . Sometimes I wonder if they would slip But they never did . They are good for rigger rods and planners . Excellent quality . They are pricy, there might be better choices for the money .
  5. They screwed up when they passed 2014 . They took a gamble that the lake would not go as high as it did. And it started to rain like cats and dogs the minute they closed the gates all over the great lakes watershed , and it turned around and bit them on the ass . THATS CALLED KARMA . The simple question is , as soon as it was safe downstream ,and the minute the Ottawa river receded , are they releasing the absolute max out ? FULL well knowing that we are 18" above normal , and above us is at record highs , if they are and have been at max release , thanks for trying . If not then they are playing us like fools .
  6. I fish light stuff a lot . I love braid for all of my bass fishing . I have maybe 10 setups of different actions . Can't beat it for feel and hook set But for ultra light to light panfishing and trout for me it's Mono hands down . Small jigs with small hooks set easy . I have 2 rigs that have 5 # braid and they are great , but jigs, under a float or ultra light , the lighter braid gets funky and has a tendency to knot up when casting , and it's hard to untangle when it does it. . A 6 /6 or 7 ft ultra light with 6 Or 4 # would be perfect IMO .
  7. Depending on the rod , I would use clear 4 # or 6# Trilene XL I don't think Flouro should be needed for panfish with light line . .
  8. To blame the IJC for all the high water would be wrong . All the lakes above are high and we can't do anything about that . We have had high water before with not a lot of problems . But when this thing passed and they closed the gates , that's when the real problems started . Now the water is in LO and there isn't a safe way to get it out quickly . It might take years , IF ,IF , they are serious about it . I figure the IJC is responsible for about a foot of the high water . The foot that is the real problem . Mother nature for the ready .
  9. Yea, but we can control it somewhat When they closed the gates in Dec the first year in anticipation of it passing , the problems in LO started . I watched the water come up . Suspend shipping now and open the gates to MAX . If they are serious about fixing the problem . ESPECIALLY with high water that cannot be controlled upstream .
  10. The sky isn't falling but the shoreline sure is washing away and a whole lot of people are getting flooded out . And it sure is hard to run a business on the water for some . Conspiracy ? We were told this was for environmental reasons and anyone with an IQ of more than 6 1/2 knows better .
  11. Pretty simple , pull the plug ... NOW .
  12. So pull the plug .........NOW!
  13. What was the justification for a thumbs down by the DEC ? Seems to me with more Brown's ,steelhead and Atlantic's , it would be good for everyone .
  14. When I trib fly or float fish , the biggest hook I ever use is a size 6 . Mostly 8 , 10, 12 or even 14 . The barn means nothing IMO. We need out of state guys coming for the revenue for continued funding . As much as I hate crowds .
  15. I work in the construction industry and have done pretty well for myself . I get paid what I feel I'm worth and my phone is ringing off the hook . I would not be in business if I Went 30 to 40% over budget consistently. I'm glad for the improvements at Altmar but I think we need another hatchery to rear more Brown's and maybe steelhead and Atlantic's . Now where the money for this will come from is,anybody's guess.
  16. I'm not a brainiac like some of you Einstein's out there but I do know one thing. If they aren't letting out the maximum amount of water when ever they can in preparation for spring run off , they are lying to us and are full of **** , which I think is the case. But will it all make the fishing better ?
  17. Did I miss where they say that there is enough bait to sustain those numbers ? I'd like to see stocking numbers go up also , but not at the chance of crashing the system . Our DEC gets a gold star from me for pretty much everything they have done to maintain a world class fishery . Are they perfect , no . Nobody is . Didn't they over stock Lake Michigan a ways back and it took a long time to recover ? And I believe it has recovered from what I have read .
  18. You can thank Mr Davis and Mr Bacon for that .
  19. Sounds like a fancy way of saying **** flows down hill But will that make the fishing better ?
  20. They are great for minor speed adjustments . They also seem to grab the water and hold the boat down so the wind doesn't push it around as much and things stay consistent , if that makes any sense . I guess you have to see what works with your boat .
  21. Donald Trump... of course !
  22. This was what I wondered about . It was the original reason for my post . Great minds think alike !! I think also the flushing out of wetlands brings nutrient rich water . But it's pure speculation on my part .
  23. So what does that have to do with the price of tea in China ? Did not know they regulated Lake Mich There are homes that have fallen off the eroding bluffs at Fair Haven . Be for 2014 At some point , some of us have to be responsible for where we decide to build. . And ask ourselves what could happen .
  24. As I have stated before , the crowds, are a necessary evil . Saw 17 cars at the Church road bridge last week Half the plates were out of state . I hate the crowds , but I don't blame the guys for coming This will ensure continued funding . The guys that come up need fish to catch And the DEC knows it . Thus The reg proposal . Also , part of the attraction and what makes this fishery great is the diversity of species. When the rod goes off or your float goes down , you never know what it is . Never had anyone on my boat complain about catching a steelhead or Atlantic . In fact they are excited about it . As I am .
  25. Weather this bill passes or not really doesn't matter to me. I'm still going to do the things I want and be happy doing them . There are always fish to catch somewhere. I fish for fun and relaxation . DEC says it's a,good idea to pass.So I am behind them . I will take a wait and see approach on future fishing forecasts. Have seen it bad when condition say it supposed to be good and vice versa. Mother nature is in charge of things . So anything could happen . I just wish guys would act honorably . That's what grinds me the most . And I saw, this, coming a ways back. Long line methods of Copers ,cores and dipsey , are not good for C&R. And the recent study on Laker release . it sounds like Lakers may be a target to get fish in the boat . But We may have a,few things going for us and there is hope . All the green water I saw this Spring. And Natural reproduction of Kings . Keep your fingers crossed . I have found with the perch , I catch none or a few , then the next time I go I get one every cast .
