  1. Anyone been out of Fairhaven, salmon? Any luck? Thanks Bob
  2. Couple days ago I fished Cayuga in the long point , steam plant area. I took landlocks 30 feet back in the prop wash. 12 to 22 inches. Spoons about a foot bellow the surface. 2.0 2.4 speed. This is typical for them. Also a 19 inch rainbow. Lakers were 40 to 55 down.on spoons. I always run a spoon in the wash. Waters cold. Look for 48 to 55 degree. 55 is almost no where.
  3. Thank you. I'll give them a try. I appreciate the info.
  4. Question for all. If been out with mixed results, fished shallow and out to 100. Marking fish, no takers. Ran sticks, spoons you name it. Anyone running flashers, flies, etc. Any suggestions. Been running between 1.9 to 3.0. Boards etc.
  5. Same in Saturday afternoon, marked many fish. From 15 ft to 60. No takers, washed every lure. Still an ok day
  6. Big smiles all around! Kids love fishing, nothing better the little giggles nonstop!
  7. Great fish, enjoy!
  8. Launched at 3. Pm . Fished east. Shallow to 30 ft. Small mouths? Ran every spoon, stick. 1.8 to 2.5. Not a hit.
  9. Thanks, I was going to slow. 1.6 to 1.9, live and learn. Thanks
  10. What speed may I ask? I found fish in the same depths. Maked lots. Only caught browns. I was near Oswego.
  11. I'm a walleye guy as well, I fish in many lakes. But walleye were never in the lake, intended for the lake and people decided to take matters into there own hands with little knowledge of the outcome. Do I really care if walleye are there? Nope. Do I wish to catch them in the lake, don't care. Hope they all die , shouldn't be in it. If the fishery changes, and undue fishing pressure hits it in full walleye fashion. I.e. Oneida lake stile. The next thing will be gobie, mooneye, smelt, northern pike . God bless. No offense taken.
  12. A friend went. The eradication of walleye is a big topic. The state is not happy with the personal stocking plan of individuals that understand nothing of the destructive nature of walleye vs rainbow , landlocked salmon. The rules for an open season can't be changed this year. Open season ie no limit walleye removal. Walleye virtually desimated Owasco. Another brilliant plan. Anyway. If walleye are desired, trout stocking will stop. Why feed an invasive species to a finger lake that never supported them. The other option, netting and removal. My opinion, and we all know " everyone has one". To those responsible, thanks for f%#king up a great fishery . I sincerely hope your caught, fined, for millions. Without question one of the dumbest, stupid moves by a bunch of non sportsmen ever contrived . I'm ready for moronic comebacks. You simply can not make any logical statements for it.
  13. Aren't you guy afraid to freeze your lower unit? Do you store the boat and motor in a garage? I worry about frozen lines etc.
  14. Brown, fall colors
  15. Thanks
  16. I'm wondering if the guys that fish the finger lakes all winter , do you plug your bilge and bait well lines from outside. I fear water getting left in pipes, pumps and splitting hoses under the deck.
  17. I too have a 16 foot Lund Fury. setup riggers, garmin bells whistles. I frequently fish Oswego, Mexico areas. I always watch the weather as some one said earlier, things happen fast on the lake. I wear an inflatable vest while i'm out no mater how hot.. I real don't stand up much as I don't have to. Safety first. last few days I've stayed home due to waves. 2 miles off shore in 2 footers is no fun and that 3 or 4 footer can wreck your day. Be safe, your life is in your hands. Plus rescue personal as well. I have had some great days this spring catching Kings, browns etc. Hope all have a great summer. Stay keel down , fish hard.
  18. Now I'm picking up a 9 in. Garmin. I have a Lowrance and hummingbird now. My Lowrance is on the dash. The bird is mounted on the left side across from my seat. I use one for map one for fish. Garmin replacing one. Not sure which. I've had mine out on Ontario. In rough. But use common sense. I came in as it was building. My Fury is very stable. I'm very happy. We fish all over. Ontario, oneida, finger lakes. Lake placid, you name it. We drag lures. Good luck. Enjoy it. Which ever you chose. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  20. I have a 2012 Fury 16. 25 hp mercury 4 stroke fi. Love the boat. Stable, plenty of room, storage is ok. Side console. I take my 2 granddaughters 6 and 8. Plenty safe. Fast enough for me. 22.4 mph. Most of all, wife loves the bow chair, sits and reads while I fish. It's perfect. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Prop wash killer. It's crazy how good they it sometimes. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  23. I run Atlantic salmon flies. Tandem, smelt colors and some traditional types. A very good friend ties them for me. The trick is at speed they have to run straight. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
