Hey guys. I have caught 2 walleyes in skn in the last month. I remembered this thread and wanted to post this pic from 10-13-18. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
No land locks. I got into nice bows yesterday and today. Both days. 3/3. 2 lt and 1 rT. Both days fished 2 hours. 35-70 ft over 70-210. Today’s bow was 23 in
Guys. I love this forum. Nice work guys on the all the recent Monstets reeled up that were publicized. I think there is a state record in one of the lakes.....somewhere. We may never get it. I met the guy from Moravia who caught the big monster a few years back at Myers point. Hell of a nice fella. Skn has got some monsters in it. I landed a 33 inch , 15-16 poundr about 4 years back. Got the last minute of the fight and surfacing of the fish on video. Oh how I love fishing that lake. Last fall we were casting and my bro in law got spooled. Something took his lure swivel and all the line off his reel. He was standing there like a kid who dropped his ice cream cone. Hilarious. I wanna catch that one! Hey y’all. Skn Sunday am. I fished for 2 brief hours. Went 1 for 5. Could a nice 20in Laker. Had a few short hits near Lourdes camp 45-100 ft over 105-190. ...and fought a f$cking monster laker for 7-8 minutes. (I assume as I picked it up in 80 ft of water.) It took a couple runs and finally I see the fluoro leader, and 1 huge head shake later and it was over. It is always a bummer to lose a big fish, but that’s what keeps us all coming back. When I was fishing I noticed some odd algae in the water, like translucent peas floating which is not the SKN norm. Later that morning we drove town on the boat for lunch.....and sure as **** the algae was back at the town docks. Big bummer. It was on the news yesterday and today. Pray for wind, rain and cooler temps.
Bass and pickerel fishing on SKN has been really good the last 2 weeks. Trolling has also been good. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Morning winds were outta sw at 5-8 mph. Great spoon bite on the riggers down 50 to 80 over 90 to 140. Went 10 for 12 all on riggers. In 3 hours. We hit the bite window right FLT AK 47 was the hot spoon. All fish were typicals for skn, 15-19 inch range, but a few woke up and were a fun battle on the light rods. Had 1 hit on the copper. Dipsys and lead core were dead all day. The wind stopped at 845 and the bite died right with it. Also I bagged a 4 lb smallie on Tuesday. Happy 4th belated ! Flatlines do work. Gotta get it back 150-170. Often stick baits or smaller profile spoons on lead or copper are the ticket. Number one dipsys far out with stickbaits sometimes get a grab from the silvers. 7-10 mph Wind seems to be the most important ingredient on this lake for silver bow action.
