  1. I have not. Only been to Washington once or twice and no fishing, unfortunately. I just pulled those pics because they were the best mouth pics I found with a quick Google. As for the fish ID, I'm too new to this to chime in. I'm just trying to learn it myself.
  2. I'm not an expert but I think these links show good real mouth shots. Coho - Black mouth, white gums. King - Black mouth, black gums http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/salmon/coho.html http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/salmon/chinook.html
  3. I absolutely love that area, Sackets, Dexter, but have only tried for eyes there once. I'll be putting my Mom's camper up at BRB Campgrounds soon. Maybe I'll run into a few of you out there. I live on Oneida so it's a tough call for early season but the eyes are never too hard to find here (probably shouldn't jinx myself) so I may try it early up there and then come back here to load up on eaters. Good luck, gents!
  4. Haha...Is "too much" a good answer? It's $2899 for the 12". And unfortunately they aren't making smaller screens yet so there's no cheaper way to try them out.
  5. Sounds like you're looking for a Helix to me. It has everything you want, you just have to make sure you get the model with SI and networking if you want it. Then just figure how big you want to go because screen size dives the price. I've always gone with Lowrance but I'm putting Humminbird Solix on my new boat. That Autochart Live is just too cool.
  6. I think you need the whole Ultimate Accessory Kit that comes with a large ring and 7oz weight and bottom plate to get that deep. I don't think the ring alone will get you there. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. All the research I've done on it says amber or copper for stream, shallow water and general use.

  9. Great info. Thanks, guys. I looked at Smiths but I only found them for $240 for the model I would want and that's a bit much for something I will probably lose within a season. On the lens front I definitely want to go amber, or green tint. I know this is mostly a salmon site, and I'm really getting into fishing them, but these glasses are mainly for shallow water for me. Bass, pike, etc. Good to know about Gander too. I'll plan a stop the next time I'm down that way.
  10. Also, if you haven't looked at the Costa website they try to show you what it looks like thru the different lens colors. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. I'm trying to make this decision myself right now so love to hear the feedback. I'm leaning towards either Tuna Alleys or Fantails with the green 580g lenses. I'm also considering the Oakley Prizm Shallow Water lenses. So, apologies for hi-jacking, if anyone has experience with them I'd like to know how they are too. 12. I went out of Oz. Nothing. Swung around to the Mexico side and went 1/2. Both small. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. This is the one I use... http://www.nws.noaa.gov/os/marine/zone/gtlakes/bufmz.htm Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. I would suggest that you let me buy it. I'll run it for a few years and make sure that everything is in working order and if it's all good I'll sell it to you. Sound good? Just kidding, obviously, but that sounds like a great deal. Congrats and good luck with it!
  15. Spoons arrived on Tuesday but unfortunately I didn't get to pick them up until now. They look great! Can't wait to get 'em wet. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. Nice looking fish! I was out with a buddy midday for a few hours and it was slow for us. 3 fat footballs but nothing picture worthy. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. If that's shipped I'll take 'em. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. Just got my 16#ers, Bikinibottom. They look great. Can't wait to try them out. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. Thanks. I did one hard reset after the upgrade when I had another issue but makes sense to try it again after having this problem. I'll give it a try before I drop the boat in in a few weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. It's a Gen 2 Touch. There's hardly any added data. I only have about 40 waypoints and delete tracks every few days. When I map a route I delete it as soon as I get to my destination. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. No I haven't talked to Lowrance about it. I just went back to the less detailed map and it runs fine. I use the phone app for the details. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. I already have the latest update for my HDS. Didn't fix the problem. But it did make the interface much better. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. Huh. That is weird. Glad you got it figured out though. Another thing to mention. I actually have to take my HDS off the fish-n-chip because it slows it down too much. I'll be out over 30fow and it will still show me 15 sec earlier in 8fow. I've run some trolling lines in the rocks going from deep to shallow. Maybe just an issue with mine but I figure I'll throw it out there in case anyone else notices they're transducer readings aren't right with the detailed map on. 24. You have to switch the map to Fish-n-chip to get community edits to show on my HDS 7. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
