Yes Thursday off Olcott same thing. For the number of fish displayed the hits were relatively few. I think they must be so full of alewives they aren't feedings. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

10 color lead core and Divers- Spin Doctor, or just a clean spoon? QUESTION guys.??? I have a rod with 10 colors of lead core, and it has been a successful rod. Usually steelhead hit it though. I use a spinner rig, it has about 6 or 8 prism/chrome spinners in line, and behind that I put a 36 inch leader, and a spoon. I wonder, is it effective to just run a spoon, with no spin doctor, or paddle on divers and lead core? Or do you most always run a paddle, or SD when you use a diver or lead core (copper too I suppose). Thanks, I have always wondered what the standard was with lead core and divers.

Amazing isn't it? I tried my 9.9 at full throttle today, and my speed was 6.5-6.9 MPH. I use 3, yes 3, Deep cell batteries in my boat. Two are connected in parallel, and run everything. One is connected solely to my new Raymarine ST 1000 Autopilot. So far, no problem at all, even though my 9.9 has no charging system......

Olcott June 22 2017, Morning Left Olcott harbor went east towards smokestack. Started at 125 FOW, and trolled for a couple hours. Lots of bait and hooks showing in top 50 FOW. Caught a couple shakers. went out to 300 FOW caught nice steelhead on the way. Circled back toward shore and had a good one on the 10 color lead core with a spoon. Tried to land without a net an it broke off- RATS! Should have used the net, but last Sat when I lost my net overboard I was forced to hoist them in, and it worked so well, I Thought I would try it again. Live and learn. So then I caught one on a chinook diver in 200 FOW 200 feet back. SD and green fly. Small chinook. While I was fighting it the rigger went 100 feet down with a SWR rod- SD and Fly. Big Fish. taking line real fast. I reached down and tightened drag too much, and you guessed it, broke off. So, 6 hits, landed 4, threw two back. Kept a nice SH and a nice Coho. Maybe 10 boats out there, most around 125-250 feet. Water is 62, and is 50 something till you get down over 100 feet. I also saw some bait balls in 300 FOW, but definitely was marking more fish 150-250. But in the morning, 6-7, they were not biting as good as I had about 8-9 am. weird.

I am also considering replacing my 9.9 Evinrude kicker even though it runs perfect. I want a 15 hp ( better for emergency?) with charging and also will add electric throttle control. My old Evinrude cannot accept the electric throttle system. The carb is buried under an air intake on front of the motor. Anyways, I am interested in what folks have to day on this topic as well. I find it interesting that my research shows that the HP of the kicker is irrelevant, you will only get 5 or 6 mph because unless you get on plane, you are limited. Thanks Laurie. I think I will make a trip someday. It's about a seven hour drive to Gloucester. I will plan on staying for a few days to fish. Where do I get gps lat long so I can navigate to the spot with my GPS? Just the basic area, I'm not asking for a specific secret underwater hot spot. Thanks again. Ok fished all day yesterday with no problem at all. I Just have a tee in main gas line, and connect the two hoses from outboard and kicker to the tee. Both hoses have a primer bulb. I did put a shutoff valve in the main gas line before the tee. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Ok, so if I am on Lake Ontario, and strike out with Salmon so I want to try for Lakers to save the day, what depth should I troll at? I see I need to be on the bottom, but, as a starting point, what fow is a good place to start? I have never seen any fish on the bottom on my screen after trolling hundreds of miles the last two summers. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

How could a brined fillet cause a problem? And I don't think herring are native fish to Ontario are they? And yet they can used. Sent from my XT1030 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
