  1. Personally I'm not a fan of stacking riggers with multiple rods, especially with FF setups. Too many issues and potential tangles, I'll run sliders on my rigger rods but only with spoons. Get yourself some divers (Dispsey, chinook or slide) and run your other two rods that way. I've never worried about too many attractors in the water at the same time either.
  2. I used to just double wrap the braid on my inline board clips. I used OR16 releases and would do two loops thru the clip instead of 1 and I rarely had issues with them slipping.
  3. We found 45* down 130ft over 220fow Sunday
  4. I have a pair of Ziggys in-line planer boards for sale. These are the “Copper” model boards, good for 300’ copper setups. These have a Sam’s Pro release on the front and offshore OR-16 clip on the back. No issues I just don’t use them. $75 picked up in Mexico or Rome. https://www.hookeduptackleshop.com/product-page/ziggy-z-board-copper-planer-board
  5. If you want walleyes your best bet is Henderson Harbor, Black River Bay area. I caught 2 in the entirety of last year in Mexico, one in the spring fishing browns and one in the fall fishing for staging kings.
  6. I got a couple extra reels that I don’t use that I’m looking to move. Okuma Coldwater 303d - currently spooled as a SWR setup (2 colors of lead with 30lb mono under it) $80 Daiwa Seagate 60 - currently has 200ft of copper on it now. $90 Okuma Convector 45d - currently empty $60 pickup in Mexico or buyer pays shipping. I can get pictures if anyone wants them.
  7. We found a lot of bait and active fish Sunday in the 140-170fow range. Managed to pick up a few.
  8. The Kings showed up in Mexico mid-late April and I haven't touched my brown trout gear since then. Usually we are fishing BT in Mexico until mid-late May and catching some kings mixed in, but never specifically targeting them this early.
  9. You were in too shallow, south winds have the fish out deeper now. We were catching browns and kings in 180 fow yesterday in Mexico.
  10. I think I've seen 3 lampreys out of the 60+ fish I landed in Mexico this year.
  11. Windfinder app for the forecast and then I'll check the weather buoys for real time info. NDBC - Station 45012 Recent Data (noaa.gov)
  12. It depends on what part of the lake you're fishing, here on the East end of LO it's usually 72.
  13. Just for safety purposes alone I would say to replace it, you can get a decent one for $100-$150. I still hear alot of people talking on mine when I'm out on the lake, I have a mounted VHF and a floating handheld VHF just in case. If your cell phone gets wet before you can make a call for help, a VHF might just save your life someday.
  14. Sitex makes a AP unit that works with the cable/power steering system like you have. You can then connect the main to the kicker with a EZ-steer setup. I've fished on boats that have this setup and thought it was loud and not very responsive. I chose to go with a kicker only AP setup when I was faced with the same decision, I run the Garmin TR-1 Gold on my kicker now. Unfortunately the TR-1 Gold isn't supported by Garmin anymore and finding parts is very difficult. But Garmin makes a Reactor 40 AP now that is specifically for a kicker motor, the only downfall with that unit is that it is only compatible with newer kicker motors. I'd love to have hyd steering and AP on the main engine but the cost of the hyd steering conversion on top of the AP cost was something I couldn't justify to myself.
  15. Join the club! I've been looking for a corded remote for my TR-1 for a few months now. I ended up ordering a wireless remote kit in hopes that it will fix my issues. Ebay is your best bet to find one... Goodluck!
