Go catch more brookies lol. It's 100% a brook. I figured a lot of people don't see them too often, though; that's why I included a pic of the tail. It's a dead giveaway between Lakers, brooks, and splakes. I knew someone would question it, and yet I'm still unreasonably mad someone would question my fish identification skills haha Sent from my SM-G998U1 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Yeah im going to report it to the dec. I'm sure they were once plentiful in the lake I let her go to hopefully make some babies Sent from my SM-G998U1 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Yup went out again today, and the ice is definitely nothing like it was Friday. Lots of cracks and plenty of very sketchy ice. If you can get around it the ice that isn't obviously dangerous is nice and clear. Still about 4 inches all the way out about 1 mile north from the south launch. Was fishing in 90ft. Managed one tank brookie about 6ft below the ice. The hub looked like a fish tank. So plenty of good ice, but getting to it is definitely an issue. I'm going to check out the south end tomorrow with a spud bar and a pfd. I'll update this thread sometime tomorrow night or saturday Sent from my SM-G998U1 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Thanks! Dec website is a bit confusing I guess. How's the ice/ how'd the day go? Conesus was a tough bite today. Sent from my SM-G998U1 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Did you ever get out there? I want to try for a laker on hemlock, but dec regulations say ice fishing hemlock illegal Sent from my SM-G998U1 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Wow! Nice fish! Any tips you'd be willing to share for the tigers? I catch them occasionally when targeting pike, but I dont really have a system down for them. Are they just bycatch for you too?
its still a solid fishery for sure. i never seem to get tigers, but pike are not an issue. usually able to get at least one over 30" per day targeting them. Read a DEC electrofishing report that came out in 2016 i believe that said there were "multiple 30# northerns caught in conesus." since i read that I've upsized my tackle and sometimes throw musky baits. Nothing over 15lbs yet for me though. Sent from my SM-G955U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
I think the warranty is only for one year, however if you send it in to them they should fix it for around $40
