What knot do you use for heavy fluro ? For my surf leaders with 50lb mono I use a 3 turn clinch. That's why i was thinking about going with crimps because I use heavy stuff in surf and for shark leaders I have been closing crimps with a hammer. A lot if the stripper guys on the surf are running crimped gear. I thought maybe it would be good for musky leaders too. Sent from my LG-H820 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Where we fish there are tiger musky. I mostly fish for tigers while the wife fishes for bass. I run tieable steel or heavy fluro leader. My wife runs mostly senkos. I make her run a 30lb fluro just in case of a tiger but she has trouble tying knots with it when she wants to switch lures. Is there a small snap that will work for her so she can swap out hooks and lures on her own without tying? Sent from my LG-H820 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
leaders, crimps, snaps and such.....
I am going to get a crimper and make some fluro and wire leaders. Does anyone use the Hi-seas mini double barrel copper crimps?
Any suggestions on snaps? I use spro swivels.
I wonder if it will work to tie on coated wire. Then if you have a follow right at boat you would have more control with the lure closer to the rod tip on a figure 8.

Justin put me onto 30lb seaguar last season . it worked really well but when I was casting for tigers exclusively I switched to toothy critter wire. Only because my wife got bit off on the flouro with a sinko. I still run the flouro when bass fishing and my wife uses it for bass and tigers. I just fell more comfortable with the wire and I put a snap on the end because of switching lures so much. But if targeting bass that 30lb Seagaur is good lure insurance.

I like the Albright knot and use it for tying my surf casting shock leaders to my main line. If I have time and setting gear up (not in the boat) I will use it. Other than that for speed and ease I use a swivel. Maybe I will look into this other knot.

Question on sizing.. A mepps 5 is 1/2 oz. A blue fox 6 is 5/8 oz.... So if I'm ordering 1/2 oz spinner bodies is that the actual weight of the body or the body for that size spinner?

I'm toying with the idea of making my own inline spinners. Do any of you guys do it? Cost effective? Or just rewarding catching them on something you made yourself?

Sorry for interrupting you guys but am I reading something wrong? Or is it only 36 in to keep a tiger in otisco? Not that I'm looking to keep one. (I have when they don't look good like Justin's) but I want to make sure I know the regulation for that lake. Some one mentioned about the beautiful fish that kid caught being barely legal? ://www.google.com
