  1. I would like #6 and #13. I'll send you a PM...Thanks
  2. Thanks, that's a great point, I don't use the tail hole, as I run Chamberlains off the DR wire just above the weight. But I can see how running off the tail can affect tracking.
  3. So the force of the water on an outward bend of the fin pushed the nose of the weight slightly outward, changing the tracking...Makes sense! I will give it a shot tonight. Thanks!
  4. Thanks, I also have a 17ft boat and Monday night it looked like they were pretty close! Running 140-150 ft down to find the 48 deg water they were waaay back...So to move out more to the side you put a slight inward bend on the tail correct? Im gonna try 3 degrees and see what I get...I had already marked them S and P...
  5. Hi, I have a couple of 12lb weights from Bikini Bottom, in the color below...Have any of you had success in tuning or slightly bending the tail fins to change the weight's tracking direction? It seems like mine both track towards the center of the boat...I will try swapping the sides they run on as a 1st step, but I was wondering if anyone has had success in tuning them? TIA...
  6. I wonder how they killed their motor...vapor locked maybe due to no water intake? Even if they spun their prop they should be able to get back at idle speed...
  7. Not sure, I know this is a 15T spline hub and will fit a 4.25" wide gearcase...Check those specs on your motor, it may work for you. Below is a link to someone selling the same prop on EBay, but its the newer version of this model with the Flo-Torq hub style. Mine is the older press in hub style. His listing says will work on Johnson/Evinrude 75-130, but it depends on which hub works with your prop shaft. Good luck, props can be tricky! https://www.ebay.com/itm/155274609928
  8. Lowered price, just want it gone! Nice condition used stainless steel Vengeance O/B prop, 13.5" DIA X 14P. Part # 48 17314 A5. Should fit 40-60HP with Big Foot lowers and up to 125HP Mercury OBs, but not 100% sure on this, so please double check! Just the wrong pitch for my boat!
  9. My son just got a job as a seasonal assistant NYS Forest Ranger for the summer. He is set to graduate from the SUNY ESF Ranger school with a degree in En Con next month. I know he is interested in becoming a full time NYS Forest Ranger, and from what I have read these positions are sworn officers and take a 6 month NYS academy training that combines law enforcement training with en con training. Are these positions also part of the PBA union, or is this something different? I thought I saw above where someone said they were, but I get the forest ranger position confused with the game warden...
  10. Is this actually Sat March 30th? Thanks
  11. I sent you a PM...
  12. Looking to buy a 1 person flipover ice fishing shanty like any of the pics I attached. I live in Rochester NY but I am willing to travel. My son/fishing partner is away at college so looking to do more solo ice fishing this season. Send me a PM or email me at [email protected] if you're selling one. Thanks!
  13. This is a great thread, lots of ideas here....I only get about 3-4 amps of output off my Tohatsu kicker charging circuit at 2500-3000RPMs so I have kept it limited to charging my starting and electronics battery while I'm trolling. I have a bow mounted PowerDrive with iPilot for steering, and my thought was to try a 50watt solar panel and a spare charge controller I have lying around to see how much that might extend the run time of the group 29 deep cycle SLA I use for the TM. Has anyone tried this setup? My boat is not very big, so I don't have much room for a larger solar panel.

  15. Its a USGS lake level monitoring station.
  16. RayMarine ST1000+ tiller pilot autopilot with wired remote and all accessories needed to install. I have bench-tested the autopilot and the remote connected to it, both work as they should. Also included is the D162 socket to connect the wired remote to the autopilot, and all hardware to install the autopilot. Asking $400 for all. I spent about 2 months trying to rig this up to the steering yoke of my Mercruiser I/O sterndrive, but it just wouldn't turn the leg and the kicker together without disconnecting the steering cable on the I/O. So I went with a MinnKota TM with iPilot instead. If you have an outboard-to-outboard setup, or even just 1 outboard you use for both trolling and cruising, this would be a good AP option. I have attached links to some YouTube videos of people using this as an AP, and the simplicity and accuracy are really appealing. There's also some members here on LOU that have used this setup and seem to like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUIvemr6Kj0&t=7s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gXet_WiHyI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=033lZV8tM1k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AE7OWfPln4
  17. Also as an FYI to all, I did call Pugsleys in Ontario as they are right down the road from me, and they only service Johnson/Evinrude and Mercury/Mercruiser at their shop. They might have mentioned they also service one of the Japanese brands, but it wasnt Nissan/Tohatsu...
  18. I did compression test, it was only reading 50 psi. So before I started to tear the motor down I looked down the spark plug hole with a camera I had bought from HF. No scoring on the cylinder, no hole in the piston and no metal chunks in the engine or oil...So I started to think a valve issue was to blame. I ran a can of seafoam diluted in 2 gal of gas through the motor, and within 5 minutes it started to run a lot better. I let it run for about 45 mins on the seafoam mix, and it was able to run through the RPM range and in forward and reverse. I thought I had the problem fixed, but then out on the lake the other day it would run for 2-3 mins and then quit. One thing I didnt do is change the spark plug, I will try that today. I do have an inline spark checker and the spark from the coil looks very strong, but I never though to change the plug. If thats it Frogger I owe you a 6 pack of your favorite beer LOL!
  19. That is correct, there's a difference between a PowerDrive with iPilot and a Terrova or Ulterra with iPilot Link. With the Link version you can have the TM follow courses and go to waypoints if you have a Humminbird FF thats compatible with iPilot Link. It can even be set up to follow a depth setting/contour line on the Humminbird! Whereas my PowerDrive, I get spot lock and autopilot, which keeps me on a heading and compensates for wind, waves, etc. There's a cheaper add on to a PowerDrive called Copilot which basically gives you Left/Right steering and I think speed control, but I have lost my fishing partner to college this year so I needed the autopilot to be able to hold a course while I set up. Big price difference between the 3 options too...
  20. After 2 months of messing around trying to find a way to rig a Raymarine ST1000+ tiller pilot to the steering yoke of my Mercruiser lower unit (inside the boat to allow for more space on the back deck and to keep it out of the weather) I finally realized it wasn't going to have enough guts to turn the main motor leg and the kicker motor (tied together with an Ez-Steer) without removing the steering cable. Since that is a real PITA every time you want to connect and disconnect the AP, I gave up and bought a used 12V MK PowerDrive that someone had added the iPilot head to as an aftermarket add-on. Just finished my first shakedown run, keeps my boat about 3 degrees +/- to a heading using the heading feature, and steers flawlessly with the kicker providing the propulsion. My biggest concern is that the marina where I keep my boat doesn't have shore power, but I have found others online who spent about $250-$300 on a 100W solar panel, a charge controller and the wiring and connectors, and can charge a Group 31 100AH AGM battery in about 1 day. Wish I had done this a few years ago!
